On a recent blog post, Good stated that live performances will likely begin this fall of 2009 , specifically in November, which now gives us a tentative but more probable release month for Vancouver.

Yesterday marked the beginning of a two week countdown to completion for Matthew Good and his band. It was also the day that America swore in their first ever black President. Both momentous occasions in their own individual ways. Congratulations America!

With the instrumentals by Stuart Cameron and Blake Manning completed, Matthew Good has started recording vocals for Vancouver .

Blake's drumming was, as always, superb, as has been Stuart's recreation of guitar parts. For me it's a first, producing a guitar player, [...]

As the recording date for Vancouver grows nearer, Matthew Good has been kind enough to share some more of his insight with us on the creative process on the Bored .

Some of the songs [on the new album] are easily played acoustically, but some are completely impossible. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to play by myself. In fact, when I sat down to write this record that's something that was very much in my mind - whether or not to consciously write a record that was primarily acoustically based.

As some of you may [...]

Vancouver has been slated for recording this January 5th, 2009. The date was pushed back about a month likely due to scheduling and Matthew Good's current plan of involving a string quartet in the upcoming album.

Live at Massey Hall also debuted this month at a respectable 24th in Canada's top 100 albums as only 10,000 copies of the album were printed. Live at Massey Hall is still available at some Canadian music retailers while digital copies are available online through Apple's iTunes.
