So according to our countdown clock, we’ve got 14 days and 10 hours until the official release of Hospital Music.

Since the album’s been streaming on Matthew’s website for the last month or so, we already know what to expect. I’ve never particularly been a fan of the pre-release idea and this is probably why I’m not feeling overly excited about the new release. But it is good, you could even say Avalanche good. I guess I’m just trying to say that the whole “stream the album before it’s released” thing kind of ruined that Christmas morning feeling for me.

My advice to you, if you like the band, just wait it out to the release date rather than having a listen beforehand.

You can read more about Hospital Music on our parent site: Near Fantastica or you can order the album for $12.96.

It’s been three days now since I went to The Police Concert at GM Place, it was awesome. It was a pleasure and an honour to watch their first show on the reunion tour. I encourage you all to see them. I wish I’d taped it.

Moving pictures.

Good song, watch til the end.

Blonde Redhead 23

Going through one of those indie withdrawls I scour the interweb for some classy music. One of the bands I ended up listening to was Blonde Redhead. When I saw their picture I half expected to be hearing something on the DOMO label but I was wrong, it was the even more effeminate Thom Yorke, Kazu Makino.

Blonde Redhead groupshot

This has to be the weirdest grouping I’ve seen so far, two Italian twin brothers and a random Japanese woman, but it makes a good combination. I bet their daily life plays out like The Dreamers, heh. Yeah I just made an incest joke. Anyway, 23 is a good album. The movie 23, probably not so much. Listen to “The Dress,” it’s my personal favourite.

Anyway, I also got myself a copy of the Scrubs soundtrack. Good stuff except Colin Hay should have stuck with Men at Work. What kind of name is Hay anyway? Shoulda went with Hays or Hayes.
