    2024 Tour

I admire what you do for work but wanted to share some stories with you. Years ago I missed out on seeing the Hip. Sure I've seen them before but turns out it was the final time Gord had played in the US and now sadly he is gone. Chances are you won't remember what you did at work on April 14th 2024. But you would regret not seeing Matt. If you have the ability to take PTO or a sick day I totally reccomend it. You only live once and you may not even be working the same job in 5 years but you would remember not seeing this show.
  5. I have to say I was really excited to see MG. I had a ticket to see his show in Sault Ste Marie back in 2020 but it got cancelled at the last minute due to COVID (which is reasonable and understandable). The last time I got to see him play was in 2017 for the BM tour. Finally he was coming back to the Sault after years, (on my birthday no less). Being a Nurse who works in a Hospital, I had to do some shift changing in order to be able to make it to the show (2.5 hour drive away from my home), which is difficult considering I work in a Hospital with staffing issues in a retirement town and Drug Treatment town, full of old, mentally ill and very sick people. One day after that, I get a notice that the show has been moved from April 25th to April 14th. There is now no way I can make this show. I am extremely disappointed and I now have to try and get a refund. I know that this stuff happens and these things are out of people's control. It just sucks because I've been a huge fan since 1998. Maybe in a few years I'll get another chance, this just really sucks.

  7. Just got email for the VIP and it contradicts the info on the purchase of the VIP. I get health things, but why leas us on to think it's be the other way? Was clearly worded to imply a one on one photo, since mention of use of your own phone. Email says the usual group shot. And the wording on getting something autographed reads like "maybe ".

  9. Was wondering the same on who's in the band lineup. Also, I assume even if the same band, will need an additional guitar player to cover Matt's stuff right? Envisioning a 5 member lineup with Matt up front.

    2024 Tour

Can't wait to see Matt Good on May 1st in Calgary and one more show in BC! I look forward to checking out the VIP exclusive cassette too. I'll probably buy an old school tape player, just to see what's on it. I wonder what the band lineup will look like this tour. Maybe Stu, Blake and Pete will be back. On a side note, it's refreshing to see that CJAY92 is promoting Matt's concert like crazy. They have nothing but great things to say about Matt, whenever I tune in, and they say things like he is fantastic in concert and worth checking out.
  11. Can't wait to see Matt Good on April 25th in Sault Ste. Marie!
  12. Roses are red Violets are blue I'm a Matt Good fan I bet you are too
  13. Ha ha I asked Chat GPT to write a poem about getting old, using the writing style of Canadian Musician Matthew Good. This is what it wrote: In the quiet hum of twilight's embrace, Shadows dance on lines etched on my face. Through the lens of time, a worn-out photograph, I navigate the landscape of a life's epitaph. City lights flicker, like distant memories, A symphony of moments, like autumn leaves on trees. In the subtle echoes of a world grown cold, I find the poetry in the art of growing old. Melodies of youth, like distant reveries, Fade into the background, in life's tapestries. In the silence of reflection, where echoes unfold, I trace the contours of stories never told. The streets I once knew wear a different face, Yet, their echoes resonate with a familiar grace. In the quiet spaces between each sigh and breath, I find solace in the dance with life and death. Aches and pains, like verses in a song, Sing the ballad of a journey, complex and long. In the creases of my skin, tales unfold, An intricate tapestry, weathered and bold. As the sun dips below the horizon's hold, I wander through the memories, both silver and gold. In the verses of time, where stories are scrolled, I embrace the bittersweet beauty of growing old. Through the haze of twilight, where shadows blend, I find peace in the echoes, on which I depend. For in the quiet cadence of a life well-told, I discover the serenity of getting old.
  14. Fantastic news! Does this mean a new album release is around the corner?
  15. Not really much was said for this upcoming Whitehorse show on Jan 13th. No idea how long it's been sold out for either. https://www.yukontickets.com/TheatreManager/1/online?performance=3361
  16. Got my Ticket for the Sault show! It's on my birthday too! How weird but cool.
  17. Great news! I'm curious who will be in the band this time around - hopefully it's still Stu, Blake and Pete, as they had a great chemistry with Matt.
  18. Exciting news and crazy that here in Edmonton is the start! VIP cassette here I come!
  19. Hope everyone has fun. Passport just expired so I won't be making the trip. Wish we could just get a little love here in the states. Even Buffalo just to keep the travel hassle down. Hope everyone enjoys.
  20. Just got an email announcing the 2024 full band tour. Looks like VIP packages are gonna include something rather special this time around, definitely curious to know what that cassette has on it.
  21. I think probably because the record company wanted to release the more popular and likely to sell albums. The first batch gave us: Ghetto, Raygun, Underdogs, Beautiful Midnight and Hospital Music While the second had: Loser Anthems/Lo-Fi, Audio of Being and Avalanche I was really disappointed when I saw the second batch because it kinda cleared up all the essentials and it seemed to me made a third batch far less likely. The most unfortunate part being that WLRRR wound up becoming the only official studio MG release to not have a vinyl release. And sadly it likely never will. I know many missed out on Vancouver, Lights and Arrows...but at least they are out there if you are willing to pay for them. Matt has never done a Record Store Day release before, WLRRR might be a suitable candidate for one. That said Im so thankful we got what we did. It was truly a pinch me kind of moment to go into a record store and pick up those titles on vinyl because I thought maybe it wouldn't ever happen. And to get some pretty obscure things like the 3 EP's was beyond unexpected and very cool. I mean at one point Matt suggested walking down the street naked holding a sign that said "Lo-Fi B-Sides" as a suitable way to get a copy of the impossible to find CD. So to now have a version of it on vinyl is a bit surreal and something Im certainly thankful for.
  22. Do we have an understanding of this subject does it need to be remastered or something?
  23. Yep that was pretty cool. It felt like a real happenstance sort of treat to hear a new song in progress, just cause somebody asked. He didn't give a working title, but I would also have assumed "Dead on New Years" was a logical title based on what I heard and the couple quick notes I made on my phone.
  24. It looks like a new song was played last night! Title shown on setlist.fm is "Dead on New Years"
  25. Hot damn he said in Cranbrook that he owns Tribus and will be releasing it? Didn't see that one coming.
  26. Wow! So lucky you got A Boy And His Machine Gun. Would you happen to have a recording? There's only been two videos of the acoustic version in existence on YouTube.
  27. Symbolistic White Walls was played 20 times in 2019 so it's not that groundbreaking
