  1. Okay, ApShampoo, (totally almost called you by... your name. I don't know if this is a name-friendly forum. okay like a give a shit) Alex, you so know I'm getting my ass to Europe. Yes my spelling and Grammar are super bad when I type in a flurry and do not spell check or re-read because I am whipping out a message to put on the internet to help em decide my future. Still, that's no excuse. Let us assume I have consistantly horrible spelling/grammar. aLSO i CANNOT TYPE. Now that my inherent flaws have been...aired. thank you guys so much for your super input about Eruope. you peeps make some excellent points. Such as havign a greta time in Europe rather than half-living ym life for 4 years and walking away with a peice of paper which could or could not be useful. I think I'll try and be like spaghetti, if I don't stick to the wall after I've stewed for a while in Europe, than I'll crawl back to second rate University life. That metaphor was just shot to hell.
  2. MAn I totally (heart) Steady as She Goes. I'ts a killer osng to listen to... well any time btu expecially high. I thought my friend Bekcy would love it, because it's the epitome of everythign that is her, down to that she actually says 'Steady as she Goes" but she heard it for like a minute, and was all this bites. Then we crashed her car, so she really doesn't like it. But seriously, killer.
  3. So, as my best friend Rebecca and I were dreadign havign to actually accept a university's offer of admission to..*Shudder8 get some sort of degree, it occured to me that, this is my life, and thus my future. Instead of getting a degree because I feel I should I could... explore Europe and study in it's most famous libraries and visits it's monuments, museums, attractions, and hostels... basically live out my teenage fantasys in a European setting. Learning about art in Italy, medieval studies in Scotland, archecture (and so much more) in France. Dropping acid in Barcelona, drinking until I can drink no more ar Oktoberfest in Germany. Enjoying the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam... (not to mention.. training for said cup.) Twirling in a feild of tulips in Holland. Okay, the twirling was a bit much. but it's a recently discovered dream and something I am serisouly thinking of pursuing, my question is, can one actually get educated backpacking across Europe? ... and also, any tips/advise form those who've done it? Or decided not to do it...?
  4. God, I love this some. It emobdies everything I love about the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's got great lyrics, killer bass, a sweet free style feel from Anthony Kedis, a really great chorus and back ups by I presume, John Frusciante. not to mention a stellar video. Fucking hot. Red Hot Chili Peppers, I applaud you, for kickign otut he jams better at 40-something than most bands *cough*LinkinPark*cough* ever could.
  5. Lord of DOgtown. Great movie. Hot concept, punk as fuck skateboarders do up venice, lead terrific lives. Inspired me to maraud around the town I go to shcool in this summer skateboarding, wearing a black bandaanna/headband to keep the shit out of my eyes, playing tennis and wearing a black bandaanna/headband to keep the shit out of my eyes. Punk as fuck in 1975. Ooh Yeah.

I recently watched Goodfellas starring Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta and Robert Deniro, expecting nothing more than an hour's diversion and finding one of my all-toime favourite movies! It portrays a young Ray Lootta growing up in Brooklyn or some shit and envying the mob from his family's apartment, eventually becoming a Goodfella. You get to revel in thew underhandedness of the mob scene, groove to the killer 70's soundtrack, which only gets better as cocaine increasingly infiltrates the movie, which you also get to enjoy. Anyone else have any thoughts/feelings on this one of the best mob movies I've ever seen? Word up.
  7. I love Drawn together, it's surprisingly vulgar; yet refreshingly funny. The charactors are great, especially ling-ling and Foxy Brown! And the flamer... but I can't remember his name. Hahaa! And the fat chick from 30's cartoons..... I love them all.
  8. Most over rated show ever? Martha fucking Stewart Living. I hate you Martha, and the things you do to perfectly good crafts.
  9. I Love Made in Canada. Great Show. COnstantly re-running on CBC during the summer on cable.. It's good times. Especially the 'Cast Party' episodes! Hilarious! Victor Sella: WEhat do you think of my name? Richard Strong: Hmm, Victor, It's ironic, I like it.
  10. DANG!!! THat looks funny. When does it release?
  11. God this movie looks good, I haven't seen it yet. Mer,. I don't go to the cinema because I'm lazy and now I have to. It looks... surprisingly hot considering the homo-eroticism... But yeah it's got to be good it was directed by Ang Lee! What!
  12. I loved the movie, but I must admit I was baked. I think thats why it was Sooo good to me, because it was epic and gripping and totally thrilling. I hadn't read the books since the 4th grade so I wasn't expecting anything, though I knew how it went so that in conjunction with my... shall we say 'regressed' state of being, created a lovely effect. I laughed, I cried, I was scared at the appropriate moments. Also it was frewaking HILARIOUS how they spent a lot of the movie wearing those giant fur coats, as they looked like tiny pimps! It was awesome, especially Edmund... he was always my favourite and he looked rakishly pimpin'. Twas awesome. ;)
  13. MOODY FOOD I had never heard of this book before being introduced to it by a friend of mine. my best friend actually, she bought it at a Chapters boxing day sale for like 4 dollars or something. It's a fantastic book about Yorkville in the mid-sixties and a killer band which emerges from some prolific hippies and creates Interstellar North American Music. Has anyone else read this masterpiece? Also... mad props to Ray Robertson himself.
  14. I think Between the Bars by Elliott smith would make a good movie about Heroin. I know how bad that sounds, given the circumstances but I think it would be beautiful. Lyndsey
  15. Silverchair make me sad because they had an album when they were fifteen and I'm seventeen and have no album! But it made up for it that their only good albums were before they were seventeen as their recent stuff SUCKED!
  16. Here are my feelings about Lance Armstrong. I admire him as a biker because I am a, (I hesitate to say cyclist but biker sounds contrived.) myself and he's rather, I hesitate to say inspirational, he's an icon of cycling. He stands for determination and all that is noble about athletics. Because he's a really good athlete. And for no other reason. I don't read articles about him and therefore am barely aware of his past battle with cancer. Could it be because I don't care? Why yes. Yes it is.
  17. Funniest actor on SNL..... Well I'm going with a bold choice considering he isn't actually on SNL.... he's a host. BUt in all fairness he's hosted a few times and is way more hilarious than expected. "I've got a fever........ and the only prescription is MORE COW BELL!!" the one, the only. CHRISTOPHER WALKEN
  18. Here's how it went down. And yada yada yada. Can you yada yada yada sex? I've done it. What? Yeah with my ex-boyfriend, we went to dinner I had the lobster bisque, we went back to his place... yada yada yada. How could you yada yada yada the best part? I mentioned the bisque. ;)
  19. Yes, Kelly Ripa. God she makes Kathy Lee seem almost bearable...HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE GETTING ON TELEVISION??!?!?!
  20. I oh so look forward to seeing Death From Above 1979!!! They are playing at some divey bar in Saint John. It's going to be hot! Both literally and figuratively. What I really want to see this year is The Vines. They are my favourite band and they don't like to tour. But then again if I was Criag Nichols I wouldn't want to share my hotness with the world either. I'd stay locked in my bathroom for all eternity. Or at least until I ran out of drugs. The I'd send a guitar tech to get me some more.
  21. Yeah, I will be singing and playing guitar... unfortunately I don't do either particularly well. For the two songs, I was thinking What's the story (Morning Glory)- Oasis All Apologies - Nirvana Walk This Way - Aerosmith and Becky i.e. my Bass player was more into You Really Got Me Now - the Kinks Satisfaction - Rolling Stones and some really lame song I can't rememeber. I'm thinking about What's the Story and Satisfaction but I really want to preform Walk this way, I just don't think a) I can learn it fast enough and B) it will sound right with only three people. But my heart wants to play Tiny Dancer by Elton John but that has an entirely new set of problems attatched to it, what with it being.... Tiny Dancer. By Elton John. Preformed badly by two rocker/stoners and a drummer.... Still I might do it anyway. I've always had a soft-spot for piano laden ballads.
  22. Buster seems to use Peanuts charactors names as...euphimisms. See"Linus' " amd "Charley Browns"! I love the show even though that's a ilttle disturbing. I wish it wasn't on Sundays. When are they going to learn this is on par with The O.C. (to say the least) and put it on a Thursday or something!
  23. Here's the deal, I play guitar and my friend plays bass. We want to be rock-stars. We've been plaing for about 4 months, and quite frankly we're not very good. There's something going on at my school and they need an opening band, so I volunteered us. Some guy is going to drum for us, but we've never played live... hell we're no where close to ready. It isn't until May 3rd and we'd only have to know about two songs. What I want to know is, is preforming llice worth it? Does the joy/excitement outweigh the nervousness of posssilby making an ass of myself in front of literally tens or fives of people. I really need some advice on this... I feel like my musical "career" is at stake. Perhaps I'm just overreacting?
  24. Does anyone listen to this Matt Mays charactor? I hear his songs on the radio and he does concerts in Saint John and Moncton.... so that's kind of not a good sign but last night I saw his video for "Cocaine Cowgirl" and... well he looks like Ashley McIsaac. ;) Yeah. I like that he has a song called Cocaine Cowgirl, but the video was stupid... and I think he may be my generation's Tom Petty.  Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Matt Mays and El Torpedo Anyone else see the semblance here?
