  1. They've put them up quietly in the official store.
  2. I've seen Josh Ritter in the neighborhood of a dozen times at this point, and that hits it perfectly on the head. His joy is infectious live, and he really is one of my favorite songwriters. I love that he puts out tab books that are really easy to follow and play along to when I'm picking up my guitar. He and Matt Good are in my top five all time musicians. Oh, and I just got a ticket today to go see Depeche Mode tomorrow at Key Arena, so that's added to my list.
  3. As a fan of OLP and Chantal Kreviazuk, I'm disappointed in myself that I haven't hear of Moon vs. Sun before.
  4. Alternate take, maybe they were the last batch of songs written for each of the albums? Trying to find themes in the songs leads me to lots of speculation, but it was a much needed listen during a busy time at work for me.
  5. I'm looking forward to seeing them next month, though to be honest I'm more interested in hearing songs off Clumsy live. The new stuff will just be an added bonus.
  6. Love the idea of this thread. All shows in Seattle unless otherwise stated. Last week I had two really good shows in three nights 09/27 Janet Jackson @ Key Arena 09/29 Ben Folds @ The Moore Here's what I have coming up. 10/22 - Broken Social Scene @ The Neptune 11/05 - Garth Brooks w/ Trisha Yearwood @ Tacoma Dome (Tacoma, WA) 11/12 - Third Eye Blind @ Showbox SoDo 11/16 - Our Lady Peace @ The Neptune 11/24 - Tori Amos @ The Paramount 01/25 - Josh Ritter @ The Neptune 04/13 - Kenny G @ Jazz Alley
  7. I am so pumped for this U.S. Tour for these two reasons.... 1. He is playing two nights in Seattle, where I live now (I used to have to drive 3 hours from Syracuse to see him in Buffalo, or 4 hours to see him in Montreal and I saw him get put into an ambulance two hours before doors in Kingston a few years ago). 2. The Triple Door is one of my top five venues I've ever been to (well over 200 venues around North America). Warning to those who are unfamiliar to the Triple Door however, it is a dining club atmosphere which would be great if he was playing solo, but I'm curious how that will translate for a full band tour. Everyone is taken to a dining table where you get a full drinks/food menu (though food is served early and they are pretty good about not being in the way) It's a classy throwback kind of club (picture the Ink & Paint club from the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"). So there is potential for it being a weird lack of energy from the audience. In either case, I'll be there, and I don't have to deal with a long drive home for once, I can be out of the club and back in my house in less than 15 minutes! Best musical Christmas Gift!
  8. Well, Steven Page got himself arrested today two miles from my house, oops. http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/200...ger_arrest.html
  9. Here's a link to the song from her website. http://www.allisoncrowe.com/09LLRunningfor...sonCrowe128.mp3 I stumbled across this while cleaning out my inbox, my email from maplemusic.com mentioned her new album and that she covered Matt, so I had to go check it out. Enjoy.
  10. In the US iTunes store, it is currently ranked number 19 in sales. How is it doing in the other iTunes stores? modedit: sweet and sour christ, we don't need a new topic every time hospital music changes ranking in a store. threads merged
  11. I'm going to agree 100%, I took a college course last semester "American Culture - The Art and Life of Johnny Cash" and we dissected the song/video, still gives me chills to hear the Man In Black sing it, and Trent is amazing, but come on, how can anyone add to either one of those?
  12. Radiohead last year was AMAZING! They played for almost 3 hours, it was their longest show in the history of their band! I can't say enough great things on how that set alone was worth the price of admission. This year, some of the bands I'm looking forward to seeing that haven't been mentioned yet are Damien Rice, The Shins, and Gogol Bordello. It's a very fun festival, excellently organized and run. I've been to some that weren't quite that way (Woodstock 99) and while I generally don't like the big venues, Bonnaroo is just a great time where everyone gets along.
  13. Has anyone gone to the Bonnaroo music festival before? Is anyone going this year? I went last year, and had a blast, and will make another appearance this year. Just curious if there's others here who will be going.
  14. My question is how do you deal with the scary stalker type fans, the ones with the glazed over eyes, who expect you to remember the one time five years ago you met them at a post-show meet and greet, and they said that really cool thing and you smiled, remember, remember? Seriously though, how do you balance being accessible to fans, while trying to keep the bat-shit crazy fans at bay? I think that's gotta be the most awkward thing about being admired as a musician. Having a fan who is clearly not all there, and you're not sure if they are going to go all Mark David Chapman on you. I admire musicians sometimes solely on their ability to get themselves out of those kind of situations.
  15. The way I understood it, Dale was a fan, and when they met, they hit it off and have been friends. And one can be liberal and a fan of NASCAR. Just as one can be a Matt Good fan and still stereotype people. ;)
  16. Another good way to tune half step down is to put your capo on the first fret, and tune to standard. Then when you remove the capo, you're in half-step down tuning
  17. That's crazy, not as crazy as Trebek, but still crazy!
  18. I could probably post them all, provided that myspace has no limit to video, I really don't know. But I'm working on yousendit as an option, the only problem is that it's a big file and yousendit takes forever and a day to upload... Blah!
  19. I recorded the following in their entirety Fated Fine Art of Falling Apart Hurt Life Beyond So Long Mrs. Smith Symbolistic White Walls I used my Sony Cybershot 4.1 mp camera with a 1gb stick that I just bought earlier in the day. I used to record shows with my mini-disc, but haven't in awhile as I hate being so paranoid and anal about the sound (I'm in school with the goal of being an audio engineer)
  20. It's early, I've not been getting sleep lately... ;)
  21. I put this up on myspace so everyone could quickly and easily check it out. It's one of six songs I have video of from the Buffalo show. I hope you enjoy, Nicholaus Edited to actually add the link http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...d=638255822&n=2
  22. The Buffalo Setlist, except he didn't play Home at the end, It's been awhile since I was your man was played instead.
  23. What did he finish with last night? Was it Alert Status Red or something else? I can't remember.
  24. I'm waiting in line in Buffalo, stealing the club's wireless... Matt's here and ready to go. I'll let y'all know how the show is/was... Nicholaus
  25. I just got back after driving from Kingston to Syracuse, and I physically watched Matt get into the ambulance. We all hope that he's alright obviously, but I just wanted to say the staff at Elixir handled it very well, keeping us in the loop in a timely manner. He did soundcheck, but around 6:20 an ambulance and a fire truck arrived, and Matt was taken off around 6:50. Minutes later, they started to tear down the stage. And damn the club was so small, I was really getting excited. *keeps fingers crossed for Matt's health and the rest of the tour*
