  1. I just get things shipped to my Canadian address.
  2. Can the franchise really die... I mean they can bring it back one day... I dunno. I think SGU was a little to different of a pace for the general SGx audience. There is plenty I don't like about it. Granted, I'm still several episodes off the end as SyFi apparently hates technology (Hulu).
  3. I think every time we have an election it proves how broken our electoral system is. And lets be honest, it is... Con's got 1.8% more popular vote, and there for 16% more seats... something seems weird. There were a bunch of ridings in SK where if the liberal had been eliminated (STV) then the NDP might have taken the seats. But who knows. http://votelab.ca/results.php did an interesting experiment in STV, so might be interesting to watch what their results are (though no better than polls as they only have some 5025 samples).
  4. Yeah, that's across the road so I never know if it's going to hit either. I usually send people to http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ and tell them to make their own call.
  5. That is in fact true. I couldn't tell if he meant minority, or was just confused.
  6. That's a good question. The honest answer is that it really depends on what you are doing. Quad core give the machine the ability to do more things at once. The clocks run a little slower, which may or may not mean it does things slower (clock speeds are a lie... it's like assuming a car with a higher rpm limit is faster, there is just more to it than that). The reason "what" matters is precisely because the performance comes from parallel, not single thread execution. Most applications these days are good at backgrounding tasks, the OS will take advantage of that and run them on different machines. This is going to show if you do any graphics editing, video, or audio. In general day to day (word processing, email, web) you might not see any boost at all.
  7. The 2.8 i5 is quad core. It's going to be a lot faster than the 3.2 i3.
  8. Finally decided it was time to stop living on my work laptop and bought a new personal machine to replace my '02 PowerBook. Quad core i7 FTW.
  9. Har Har. It wouldn't be as capable either.
  10. This weekend I bought a 2000 Nissan Xterra... I must destroy the planet to enjoy it (I bought it to be able to get in to more remote spots to hike). Today I bought a radiator for said Xterra, because it has a crack in it's (and I won't pay $600 for the shop to replace it when it is 4 bolts).
  11. Mehh... I buy both, but mainly because I don't live in Canada right now and can have instant delivery for the iTunes version. I don't see why it bugs you though... I mean I could argue that it just makes up for the fact that the iTunes version doesn't get the liner notes. Each medium has to do what it can to add value.
  12. Yup some people do... too bad for them I say.
  13. Yeah... this board really doesn't require that much moderation. The days of urber trolling seem behind us.
  14. Singularity. It has an interesting horror feel to it for a FPS (it's a little bit more like Bioshock with Dead Space style baddies). The plot is kind of novel which is refreshing. We'll see how it plays out.
  15. South on 280 for me. But why would you want to go to San Jose?
  16. Anton will understand my reasoning better, but I hate all of you so much right now.
  17. Pshhh, you're not even close to banned. You got mellow old man.
  18. It's pretty good... but I really feel it's a little to literal in places. I certainly like the open an close, but the whole "put a man on the moon" bit seems to miss the figurative part of the statement for me. Anyway, keep it up, thanks for sharing.
  19. 7 it is, 7 it was... 7 it will never be again.
  20. P.S. I did notice this... nothing to see here, move along.
  21. To be honest, I don't really have an issue with it. I can't even reasonably ask you to tone it back because you're not over the top with it. I can't say I like your tone, but hey, it's the internet and we don't have to like each other. So, lets call this argument dead and continue as we will. In that vein, post what ever quotes you feel important to share, people don't really have to read them if they don't find them agreeable.
  22. I don't really see a reason to enforce that. I might not agree, but such quotes still have a place I guess.
  23. I don't play to many games on my phone. Lots of people seem to like "Flight Control"... The path making games get old to me after a while. I usually just look at what is going for free to see if there is anything worth while. As for productivity, what do you mean?
