Best Bands No One Has Ever Heard Of

Recommended Posts

As much as I dread this becoming an "indie-er than thou" contest, I'll ask anyways. What/who do you think is the best band or artist that you think is extremely unheard of?

I would say, th Russian rock band DDT. While very poplular in Russia (they've played to audiences of around 120,000 people), it seems few have heard of them in the west. Their music is somehow both strange and unusual, and at the same time very familiar.

i never heard of this guy till i saw his name on the ads for the upcoming joel plaskett show. figured since i payed to see him, i should check him out:

peter elkas

i was considering not going to the show until joel plaskett took the stage, but i think i'll go for the opener now. he's pretty good.

i've seen peter elkas le le live. he was pretty cool.

no one here has ever mentioned cave-in. i loves them. i like the microphones lately, and to my limited knowledge, no one has mentioned them, although its possible they've been posted in shade's album upload topic and i missed it. i'm not going to bother searching, that's how reckless i am.

Wintersleep, Talk Talk, Sonata Arctica (if you like power metal).

Edit: Pavement is also amazing, but I dunno how "unknown" they are. To some people they are like "the original indie" and on the other hand, some of the most "indie" people I know haven't even heard of them.
