Worst cover songs you've ever heard?

Mine would have to be...

Nana - Anarchy In The U.K.

Panic! At The Disco - Karma Police

The first one is a J-Pop cover and I had an extremely horrified look on my face when I first heard it.

I love the song Karma Police, but for that one, I just couldn't listen to the whole thing...

Fall Out Boy - Love Will Tear Us Apart

this one is an absolute hilarious disaster.

edit: ohh, and even worse

The Darkness - Street Spirit

how can you possibly sleep at night having completely and utterly butchered one of the best songs ever?

in my view, if you're going to do a cover, don't just make it sound EXACTLY like the original. Him - Wicked Game is a good example of how to do it right.

same with Throwdown - Baby Got Back. Hardcore version of Sir-Mix-A-Lot??? HELLS YEAH!!!

For some reason, a lot of bands covering Oasis sound like shit...the only good one I've heard was Lyla by the Foo Fighters...the rest sound like crap:

Maroon 5: Don't Look Back In Anger

Sum 41: Morning Glory

Paul Anka: Wonderwall (well the whole record sucks...)

And a band covered Acquiesce some time ago but I can't remember who. They did it badly anyways.

Good Charlotte. ;)

Smiths - Golden Lights

Kasabian - Heroes

Morrissey - That's Entertainment

Mark Ronson - Stop Me (If You Think You've Heard This One Before)

Magic Numbers - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.

Ahh yes the "very talented" Good Charlotte...it was horrible

Eddie Vedder's You've Got To Hide Your Love Away was absolute shit as well...he sounds like a goat on sleeping gas

Edit: Actually, a lot of songs off the I Am Sam soundtrack are really bad Beatles covers:

Stereophonics - Don't Let Me Down (you'll fall asleep before the end)

Heather Nova - We Can Work It Out

The Black Crowes - Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

Howie Day - Help

Grandaddy - Revolution

And worst of all:

Nick Cave - Let It Be

eh eh now, Wonderwall done by Ryan Adams was a fantastic rendition.

I'd have to agree with the post about the New Found Glory cover album.
