New Acoustic Songs Tabs

Recommended Posts

Does a tab exist for great whales of the sea? It sounds simple enough, with a little tremolo picking for good measure. But I'm inept at tabbing anything... only been playing for a year. Any help? I really want to play this song.

Great Whales of the Sea

tuned: EbAbDbGbBbEb

tab starts at 1:54 when the rhythm guitar comes in (and is a tab of just the rhythm guitar that Matt would play live)

Bm // G // D // G G/F# x2

Bm // G // D // G G/F#

“..if failure’s number one..”

Bm // G // D // G G/F#

“..then surely he’s our second son..”

G // G/F# // Em

“..it’s all in how you disappear me..”

Bm // G // D // G G/F#

“..great whales of the sea..”

Bm // G // D // G G/F#

“..great whales of the sea..”

Bm // G // D // G G/F#

Bm // G // D // G G/F#

end on D

Bm - X24432 G - 320033 G/F# - 2X0233 D - X00230 Em - 022000

I don't really know where it is in the song.. is it the organ sounding part?? ..if you give me a time in the studio or live version i could try and figure it out

Ah, it's when he goes 'life's for the livid, so check me tomorrow, we'll see if I'm kidding'.

Studio version it's very quiet, it's louder in the live rendition (Specifically Edgefest 99 and 2000. Not too sure if the riff is played elsewhere, it's certainly not played anymore)

Suburbia is either capo on the 2nd or 3rd fret, depending on the tuning.

The main verse is:

x02200 to x02210 (there's a hammer-on) where the bass note on the A string is hit first a few times then

x32010 to x32030 (another hammer) bass note on the A string again

x20030

after the verse is goes into a pseudo F (I'm sure it has a real name, I have no idea what that would be) ->

x33210 with a slight hammer off and on on the G string

chorus is just G, Am, pseudo F, C, G, Am, PF

At least, that's pretty close to how he played it in Vegas.

As for Empty's Theme park, I think Matt was playing Em -> G -> C -> D, but that's from memory, I'd have to check again.
