Club Infinity Questions

Recommended Posts

Ok, so there's a good chance that I'll be able to see Matt on the 29th at Club Infinity in Buffalo (the best birthday present ever!). I've never been in the area, much less the club, so I was wondering what anyone's opinion is on the venue. This will most probably be the only time I see Matt live, so I want to make sure it's done right.

Is there anything in particular I should take note of and/or do to make sure I get good seats?

Also, how might I go about meeting w/ Matt after the show? I'm sure this has been asked before, but I keep getting an error when I try to search for an answer. Or maybe I'm just stupid.

Thanks in advance! ;)

There are just seats on the side of Infinity, usually for people who want to sit and drink. The fans stand wherever in the middle of the floor.

I haven't met Matt but usually I think fans just stand out by his bus and wait.

And my opinion on the venue? It's a fairly shitty one but for Matt's kind of act, it's nice and small so whatever.

Yeah, I know it's not a theater, and I think I'd rather see him in a theater, but my options are very limited and I'm up for anything at this point.

Plus, my mom apparently bought the tickets this morning.

I'm still SUPER excited!! ;)

And we'll see about the underwear throwing... haha

At the Oct 5th show I sat in the parking lot for 6 hours because I had taken a flight to Buffalo from NYC. People didn't start lining up until like 5pm and the doors open at 7pm so you might want to keep that in mind -- considering it is general admission and the sooner you get in the better potential spot you'll get (in proximity to the stage I mean). I was basically the first person on line and got right up by the stage, which is how I got some great videos and pictures. I definitely do not regret waiting all that time outside because getting a good spot like that made the show much more memorable than if I had been somewhere in the middle of the crowd.

I won't be at that show the next time around, but I will be at the NYC show, which is also general admission! ;)

i went to both of his shows there ( i think hes only had 2 there) and as far as atmosphere...its bad, like fucking terrible. i was pretty close to the stage and could hear the waitress smash the dishes about every 5 minutes, not to mention a lot of drunks yelling stupid shit which in turn means less storytime, which sucks cuz hes a really funny guy...definitely not the best place to see matt in an "intimate acoustic setting". if your from the states try for a show in canada as he seems to interact with the crowd alot more and a better performance all round. but then again its called club infinity and not some opera hall in canada so, which is totally the way to go btw...

I completely disagree. I didn't encounter any annoying drunks at the Oct 5th show, wasn't paying attention to any crashing dishes, and Matt was very interactive with the audience. The general admission setup + the bar made it fun and there was plenty of singing along with songs like Born Losers and Load Me Up -- something that would probably be less likely at many of the Canadian venues with seating. That kind of setup, while more intimate, is too spaced out and potentially less fun for my taste!

That clanking is beer bottles, you do not have to move to get a drink those waitresses swarm that place. There are no seats though which is OK.You can get there as late as 6:30 and get a great spot.It is small but you are really close,i have had worse. We usually meet @ the bus. This time? The full band is awesome at that club!

He's played there tons before. I saw him there this past fall on the acoustic tour. Mid-Suburban area, like, 3 car dealers within walking distance. But other than that, good for an MG show. He did a meet and greet at the bus after the show... be patient and wait around a bit.

This is going to be his 4th time playing there. Once with the band and this will be his 3rd acoustic show. I've been too the three and this will be my 4th at Infinity.

I've had mixed reactions at the place. The last time there in October I was more annoyed. Beer bottles being thrown into the trash by everyone and the noise it made plus the people around me we're making ridiculous comments. One person yelled something during "It's painful and slow just like this song" during "99% Of Us Failure" which got some dirty looks from just about everyone.

It's hard to see him for the first time in Buffalo. I was able to enjoy both Ottawa shows at the Bronson Centre also. But you'll still have a great time because it's Matt and his shows are amazing.

I was at each of the shows as well. The first was great with the full band- the second equally so- an acoustic set- first one I've seen. The last one had a couple of asshats in the crowd bringing it down a bit, but overall it was a good show. It is an intimate atmosphere, so the crowd can significantly impact the experience.

see you all there.

I agree. While the two back to back acoustic tours were good I am kinda tired of the one man show and am eagerly awating the full band tour. And as for ratio I have seen Matt Good(band) live 16 times total, 2 acoustic the rest with orginal/new band.

Tomorrow night in Buffalo will be my 7th time seeing Matt. I've seen the full band only twice. I love the acoustic shows but it would be nice to rock out to Matt.

I'm heading to Montreal in May so I'm pumped to see full band again.
