Audio Of Being

Recommended Posts

I think this is one of the most underrated albums of all time. I wouldnt even remotely call him hugely popular here in Philadelphia (I heard of him when I had MuchMusic back in my Directv days), and I have friends who have NO idea who he is and why I have all these cds "from this guy they've never heard of". The shame of radio here in Philly I guess. Anyhow, I was BLOWN AWAY by this album and lent it to a friend of mine literally the week it came out and said to him "YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS".

An hour and a half later he called me back and said "Are you fucking kidding me? Radio wont play this guy? Bring those other cds you have over".

Two fans in Philly now ;)

Audio Of Being, Beautiful Midnight, and Avalanche are some of the best albums I have ever heard. It is still astonishing to me that Man Of Action, Truffle Pigs, I, The Throw Away, Advertising On Police Cars and Sort Of A Protest Song ARE ON THE SAME FRIGGIN ALBUM.

And, forgive my ignorance, but other than the aforementioned Pony Boy...what were the other bsides for this album?

ha there are a few of us...I converted a few of my friends..I try to tell everyone I know.

aopc cranked full bore is amazing...hell the whole cd is perfect.

my favorite matt good cd, the sound of the band falling apart made for great music, from the production, to matt's vocal performance, to the lyrics, to dave's guitar work, i can listen to that album over and over and not get tired of it.

for any interested in effects used on the album (guitar), see the "dave genn's pedal board" thread i posted a while back, it's pretty accurate and it's from the studio when they were recording audio of being.

This is an album I didn't get into much until a few listens. I think it has seeped into my brain now to the point that I think it's a really good album but not my favourite. Some top notch songs of his are on here, my favourites probably being:

The Rat Who Would Be King

The Fall of Man

Advertising on Police Cars

The Workers Sing a Song of Mass Production

Tripoli

A couple others are very solid as well but I'll just leave it at that. It very well may be the most musically skilled of their albums and probably has the best production.

Indeed you can't deny the power of the Good/Genn partnership.

I wouldn't be very adept at megaupload and the sort

Directions:

Registration-

Go to www.megaupload.com

Click "Free membership" in the upper left hand corner.

A new window opens.

Scroll down and fill in your information.

Click register.

Check your email to retrieve the activation link.

Click the link in the email message.

Change your account details if you would like.

Uploading-

Go back to www.megaupload.com

In the "select file to send" box, browse for the file you want to upload.

Give it a meaningful file description. You don't have to fill anything else out on the bottom portion.

Accept the terms.

Press send and the file will load.

You will later see a link pop up in the upper right hand corner of the page that has the location of your file. You give this link to your friend who wants the file.

Deleting-

If you go back www.megaupload.com and scroll over the buttons on the left, the 3rd one down on the left side is the "File Manager." Click this option and here you can delete any file you have previously uploaded.

That's pretty much all you need to know to work with megaupload. Although without a premium membership, you will probably only be able to host 3 or 4 songs at a time, so you'll need to use that File Manager tool to switch between them. It's quite simple.

All Together was released. It was the iTunes pre-order bonus track for In A Coma.

Us fans here in the US werent lucky enough to be offered that. Record companies SUCK

The song is pretty slow and depressing but I like it...I can see why it was cut off the album though as it doesnt really fit

was that the song that only was played 1-2 times live or am I thinking of boy and his machine gun or something?

He played "A Boy and His Machine Gun" while he was touring for Beautiful Midnight. I've heard it once for sure, maybe twice around that time.

The Workers Sing A Song of Mass Production has been played more than twice over the past couple of years.
