Who Is Going To Dc Tonight?

Recommended Posts

If anyone is going to the show tonight, then let me know where you'll be beforehand. I think we'll try to grab dinner at IOTA, but we may also hit up an area pub.

I'll be the guy wearing the old school Nordiques cap. (As if I had to say "old school" before I said "Nordiques.")

My buddy is a Marine out there, and he's going tonight. I think he's planning on getting there early like most of you are. Long time Matt Good fan and a personable guy. So if you see a dude with a crew cut lingering around the stage, say hey.. his name is John.

I try not to make a habit of saying "hey John" to lone crew-cut sporting dudes, but I might make an exception tonight.

Haha generally a good policy in life I'm sure. He's an Audio of Being addict like myself, so he may push for Tripoli at some point.

Whatever the case, enjoy the concert. I saw the Detroit show and it was fantastic. It seems like the setlist has only gotten better since, so you guys are in for something special.

You can always just go to IOTA to hang, I'm sure. Early bird beats the weirdos.

Apparently Matt is already playing... my friend held up the phone and let me hear him jamming through "Born Losers"... sound check maybe or just an early treat? Either way, very cool.

The show technically went on at 7:30, so that's pretty sweet.

According to Iota's website it technically started at 9 pm... so just a little bit ago. Which means they definitely lucked out and caught a bit of a pre-show.

I was one of those others. Matt was great. He chilled out with us after the show for a couple hours. Just another guy at a bar. It was pretty surreal.

By the way, JoePosh

I met your boy John. His crew cut wasn't as conspicuous as I thought it would be, but my Nordiques cap was. He recognized me early on after the sound check and we all hung out all night. I have pictures for him. I'm just waiting for my wife to wake up and give me his email address.

Honestly, it was a bar/restaurant. There is a wall dividing the floor so it was a really small place. A total blast, though. I recommend the baked brie... not so much the pasta. They have very low-carb pasta there. In fact, they have invisible pasta. Crazy...

Here's what I've got uploaded to my photo page so far.

Awesome shots man. It should be noted that Matt didn't actually play Generation X-Wing, despite the set list... he added Pledge of Allegiance and Breath of a Nation instead. It was pretty funny being on the phone, listening to my friend get excited cause it was coming up (he could see the set list from where he was standing) and then hear the reaction when Matt changed his mind.

I'm jealous that you guys got to sit down and converse with him. He was sick and bounced immediately after the Detroit gig I went to. Amazing pics though... Glad you got to have that experience.

"If I was a Tidal Wave" not "Breath of a Nation"

Yup, you're right.. It was Tidal Wave, I had just finished reading that blog from Philly called "Breath of a Naion" before typing this. Guess I did a little mental switcharoo.

Wow, JoePosh. You pretty much just got served by a guy who gives the thumbs up in front of chalk window signs.

Oh, it's on...

Haha

Coach: Oh, it's on!

Randy: Nonono, it's not on.

Coach: Whoo, it's on all right!

Randy: It isn't on. Nothing's on. It's off.

But in any case, thumbs up in front of chalk signs are no less lame than stealing a fist full of "Matthew Good live at the Magic Stick" flyers on your way into the show. Oh mementos.
