Nf 2008 - New Site Discussion And Bugreports

I'm about to upload the new site to the main server so feel free to post comments and thoughts on how it looks/works.

 

Currently, I only managed to get the news, concerts, lyrics, albums, and videos up and running. I will enable the other parts of the site and some of the new material when I finish writing it!

 

Commenting on the news posts will work again. You won't need an account but you can enter a password and it'll remember who you are and you won't have Guest_ in front of your name.

 

Since someone's probably going to ask about the shirt box, it's there because hosting is costing me waaay more than I can afford every month. Anything you buy from our Amazon links or any swag you get from the shirt box goes directly to the hosting bills.

 

I'm still looking for writers and contributors! Also enjoy the old tour dates.

 

Please post any bugs you find in this thread!

I personally preferred the old layout... it looked cleaner, with a great header too.

I shat bricks when I saw it was up. I think it's looking good, but personally, I prefer seeing the lyrics page as a nice list instead of the clump of text with little dots to seperate them, and it would be nice to see the Hospital Music and WLRRR lyrics in track order instead of really randomly.

I think each major release should temporarily get its own thread where the fans can contribute trivia they remember. "The Trouble Bunch" stuff, aborted singles, unique promo stuff, Matt's comments on the records, etc.

 

When we have a lot then just add it to the actual site.

I just think there are a lot of glaring mistakes and omissions.

 

Example: "Gone away boys. We're gone away" on the inside jacket is NOT from The Boy Come Home.

Hey Anton I'd LOVE to buy some shirts but we get crippled by customs and shipping here in England. I ordered 4 shorts off Maple Music and, with shipping $60 and customs charges, the total amount was way beyond what the shirts cost alone. Any way around this? :0(

Sadly I don't think so ;). It's the company itself that ships out the goods so we have no control over it.

yeah I know... I think it's because you had to open up a new app and it didn't just flow from the same page type thing... yeah that might not have made sense, but I know very little about coding..
