Yes you've read correctly, for the past 25 years, there's been a debate, in Quebec only of course, between the government and the dairy industry to forbid margarine to be yellow.

 

Now it's allowed

 

This is like the most important decision in the HISTORY of this province! I can't believe they didn't stop the press. Hello??? Yellow MARGARINE!!!

 

Don't we have the most important debates sometimes in this province!

This just in from the home office in Butt, Montana...the top 10 reasons why Yellow Margarine has finally been accepted in to Quebec...

 

10) Those wacky Quebecois are always trying to win that ever elusive "Canada's Funniest Province" Award.

 

9) Because allowing women the right to go topless, just wasn't progressive enough.

 

8) Because Jacques "Le Coq" Grande gave away our Quebec Pizza recipe, "Ze Pop Tart, with Ze Ketchup"

 

7) Because we're tired of the rude American Tourists Bitching about it when they visit.

 

6) Because yellow makes it mellow

 

5) If Saskatchewan can a town called Nippewan, then we can certainly have ze yellow margerine.

 

4) Because national unity on the subject of margarine color, is the first step towards healing the wounds of attempted secession.

 

3) We'll try anything if it'll help the Expos when a game.
