Vancouver Megathread

Recommended Posts

hahaha.

yeah I can't believe he'd be done in 3 weeks, even though he finished Hospital Music fairly quickly. The Vancouver songs sounded like they'd be kind of complex.

Shit, it took me a month and a half to finish a song I was working on recently. But then I'm sure I'd be done faster if I was a PRO!!! ;)

Are you hearing the finished product? If so, how does Matt know it will be recorded by then? Or what is the deal with this? I don't get it.

I have no idea right now. That's up to Matthew; he'll sort something. The thing is, as I am travelling from the UK I couldn't make it last year, so the deal was that I come over in January; I have no clue what's in store. And that's what's so exciting, really. ;)

She was the winning bidder in a charity thing. So she gets to go and listen to the demos and hang out with Matt Good.

Oh I see...

I don't remember the contest but congratulations Jane!

it looks like pete yorn should be recording with mg.

This may sound like a dumb question but are we sure he's wasn't just talking about Pete from his tour band and not Pete Yorn? I mean Pete did do backing vocals for the tour so I just originally assumed he was talking about him.

Matt posted a blog today saying "Track 11, the track that didn't make it" (which is just a light hearted joke song).

There were 11 demos, which would lead me to believe that one of them was cut out, leaving us with a 10 song album and one of the demos potentially scrapped.

Thoughts?

Could mean nothing at all.

I think you're just reading too much into it. Matt showcased 11 songs on the blog (Last Parade, Vancouver National Anthem, Boy Who Could Explode, Us Remains Impossible, On Nights Like Tonight, Volcanoes, Silent Army, Fought to Fight it, Empty's Theme Park, Life in Spite of Itself and Great Whales), but only confirmed the first nine to be on the album. With the bad German accent version of Great Whales showing up on the blog, and him later commenting that he only goes into the studio with material that will be on the album, it appears that he had originally planned on the nine track album and added Great Whales.

And now, I am reading far too much into it ;)
