The Junos

Recommended Posts

I used to enjoy awards shows for the music, when I was younger. Now I just don't see the point of them... a lot of the artists(if you can call some of them that) aren't worth the time or the effort to change the channels. It's too damned predictable a lot of the time anyway.

Every year the Junos come around, every year they interview Matt Good and write a story on how he hates the Junos and every year it's the same thing.

Exactly why I said "Nothing new here". It was just on the front page of Yahoo so I posted it.

I loved the headline. "Canadian Singer Blasts Junos." I knew what it would be before I clicked the link. It's kind of sad that they can't think of anything new to write about the Junos. Why not advertise that the event is green powered or something like that? There are plenty of people who'd find controversy in that. >;)

My favorite thing is the comments left by users. Yet again, there are people who fail to comprehend what they are reading. I recommend browsing through. It's good for a laugh or two.

I find that comments on any kind of news article always showcase the stupidest people on the Internet. I find this to happen most often on sports related stories. Ugh. I want to just smack people sometimes.

Oh those are gold!

Matt Good wants to win awards. He wants to be as popular as Nickelback. Thats why he puts out albums with radio friendly songs that get played on canadian radio. He has benefitted immensely from this set up and is hypocritical for pretending he is somehow above the rest. Of course the Juno's are mainstream and somewhat lame, tell us something new. The biggest shame is he actually is a good songwriter, but he is bitter, self-centered and delusional. Mat..you need help..

Even though it is mentionned in the article that he's been critical of the junos even when he was actually WINNING some (I remember an interview on MuchMusic from 1998!)...to be honest, I was expecting this reaction until the article itself said that he was always critical of the Junos...but I forgot people are idiots...

Mathew Goode is so 90's anyhow....

Hope she's kidding

I agree with Mr Good even if his depressing tunes blow @$$!

Now THAT'S a pertinent comment....

Matthew Good, you're either dumb or misguided. Self righteous perhaps too? Let's see you donate the dollars from your USA sales to charity. Then we'll know what you're made of. You're just a hissy little whiner.

Don't get that one...

And that's all the patience I have for today lol...I missed those "patriotic" comments though Anton. Is it me or were you more patient than I was?

Not surprising...Ive heard Good complain about different cities he is playing in, different fans, his band, the junos...just something else for him to run his mouth about.

Probably because he has something relevant to speak about and not just "running his mouth" like some people.

Yeah, I was listening to two radio stations in Calgary today, and they both commented on how outspoken Matt is and how he's not going to the Junos (Fuel 90.3 and CJAY92).

I'm surprised this is the news again. Maybe it's because the Junos are in Vancouver this year, and it's hitting closer to home.

And any publicity is good publicity...

I'm not surprised lately to see Matt Good writing about and commenting on things happening in Vancouver (Olympics, Junos, crime / homelessness) in a year when his album of the same name is due for release.

the people who write articles for the magazines that have

"Matt Good will not accept a Juno, because he doesn't go to the ceremony"

I don't like them

They need to write an article. nothing. I know, "I will just report on how Matt won't go to the Junos if he gets an award. yeah, that will take up 1 maybe 2 pages.

sweet."

Lame. I spit on them.

I remember when I first saw the juno's. it was when alanis morrisette came out with her big album jagged little pill. I had to sit through 2 hours of crap just to watch alanis. ever since then I never watched the juno's again.
