10th Anniversary Cover Album

Regardless of whether or not its an album, there should be a collection somewhere. If Crusader posts it, then thats cool, but maybe a bunch of us should get together and just record something and put it together.. even if its only in Youtube format.

So yesterday came and went and clearly nothing happened...FYI.

we're working on it, hopefully by late october it will all be done.

 

so far we have tracked at least SOMETHING for every song, a couple of tracks just need vocals and drums, some just need layers of noise, others need pretty much everything but we should be able to wrap it up sooner or later.

Beautiful Midnight is such a massive album. It made me quit writing songs. But to fight against the genius of the album,

I decided to cover them all. I studied the songs. The project is not finished, but I am glad, that there are other people, who feel like me.

 

I did record the following songs of Beautful Midnight:

 

Load me up

Failing the rohrschachtest

Suburbia

Going all the way.

 

"Load me up" is a killer. I was not able to sing it well, so I got two versions. One is a duett, the other is a comedy.

 

The tapes are lost somewhere, but I also covered some other tunes of Matt:

edit: I have a recording of myself singing A Single Explosion without any instrumentation, just me a cappella basically. I guess I'm confident enough about it to post it if anyone's interested in hearing it.

Sounds great to me...backed by a cover band and everything (or even just an acoustic guitar), it'd get the girls. ;)

Thanks very much :angry: . I'm sure my girlfriend would appreciate the excess attention I'd get from other girls ;) . If I could play any instrument decently I would have done that...but I can't so I didn't. If anyone else wanted to add instrumentation to it, if they like my voice enough, I certainly wouldn't mind. Same if someone else were looking for vocals for another MG/MGB cover.
