Matt Co-hosting 90's At Noon On Cfox

Recommended Posts

interesting talks, all kinds of stuff about the pixies, reasons why the acoustic massey show wasn't released (matt = sick, most sounded like crap), ripping on jeff martin for his nose candy habits, etc.

EDIT: random interview mentions...

-matt thought the last good album u2 put out was achtung baby, but zooropa had some standout tracks and beautiful day is worth mention

-matt only listened to explosions in the sky and joy division when making vanouver, and is a huge fan of peter hook's bass playing

-apparent radiohead fan as "ok computer" was one of his albums that must be bought from the 90's, along with tromp le monde by the pixies and and black love by the afghan wigs

listen on their site...

Tried to listen to the whole thing, but I at work so can't or couldn't listen to it all in full. Will try again when I get home to listen to it on the website, but I dont think he sounded like crap. He sounded ok to me. Can't wait for the show!!!

Just finished up listening, the host finished the interview with asking Matt three albums from the 90s everyone should own, he said too hard to pick just three, but these are the ones he stated:

Trompe le Monde - The Pixies

Black Wigs - The Afghan Whigs

Ok Computer - Radiohead

he mentioned The Bends too.

How did we all know Matt would select a Pixies song to be the first played after one of his own 90s tracks.

I thought the interview was great and was very pleased to hear "Great Whales of the Sea" as its my favourite track from Vancouver.

However, "1965" might be the best Whigs album ever.
