Presidential Elections 2004

Recommended Posts

Did anyone see Zell Miller at the RNC? I think that would definitly give a small backlash to them, especially now that they're trying to distance themselves from their own keynote speaker. Try comparing tht to Barack Obama who gave the keynote speech at the DNC. That was a damn good speech if you ask me, and very positive, not based on fear mongering and ridicule and negativity like Miller's. What's even funnier is that Miller is a Democrat who the GOP welcomed with open arms. C'est ironique, eh?

is he the crazy guy who was shouting about how john kerry isnt war crazy enough to be commander and cheif and wants to arms american soldiers with spit balls?

and than in a later interview with CNN i think, he wanted to deul with the interviewer....lol crazy republicans

the reason why Bush has so much support is that many americans are staunchly loyal to their parties....they vote republican because they are republican, or democratic because they are democrats...not based off of the skill or knowledge of the candidate

That's the guy! Chris Matthews asked him if he actually thought that Kerry would have the army fight with spitballs, and he blew up. Man! The Democrats should find some way to work that interview into a campaign video. "Zell Miller: leading the charge into the 18th century"

MSNBC

The process is simple and productive: Give Chris a straight answer, let him talk, pick up your point when he’s stopped talking, share the oxygen with him, and everything’ll be just fine.

Seven hours later, Senator Zell Miller goes all Aaron Burr on him and fantasizes about challenging him to a duel.

Here’s a man who in a historical-blink-of-an-eye ago was calling John Kerry a hero and swearing the Republicans had ‘sold the country out,’ fresh off a fear-mongering speech that made his '92 keynote for Bill Clinton sound like a schoolmarm talking to a bankruptcy referee, and Miller gets mad at Matthews?

The gist of the message from the Democrat and/or Republican was: vote for John Kerry and America will be attacked. And when it’s attacked, it’ll be defended with “spitballs.”

So Chris asked him if he really meant that.

“It’s a metaphor,” Miller replied. “Do you know what a metaphor is?”

Umm, Senator? That’s why he asked. Did you really mean that metaphor? Wasn’t that metaphor over-the-top? Isn’t it predicated on a half-idea: that John Kerry tried to dismantle weapons programs (the ones Defense Secretary Dick Cheney had asked the Senate to dismantle)?

Of course, Senator Miller can’t answer those questions. He's a one-man political revolving door trying to lead the criticism of a flip-flopper. So all of a sudden he’s slapping a white glove, throwing down the gauntlet, and checking the newspaper for the exact hour of sunrise. Senator— you have the first choice of spitballs.

Matthews can talk to anybody, and listen to anybody. You just have to get with the rhythm a little bit. Bend slightly. Flex. You know, the kind of bending and flexing you have to do when you want to come out and condemn both major political parties in the same decade.

And incidentally, Senator, the show is called Hardball, not Spitball.

;)

The nation will be so screwed if Bush gets another 4 years. I mean look how much he's fouled up enough already with one term, you got the whole world in a state of war, more nations hate America than ever before, there's job losses, decreasing environmental standards, so on and so forth. He's already created a mess that is gonna take one hell of a long time and effort getting out of and Bush is certainly not up to the task of making it any better.
