Early 90's Grunge

I think Nirvana is over rated, so I'm going with Pearl Jam.

Im thinking soundgarden...but i love all those bands (and your right. Nirvana is overrated)

 

I pick soundgarden bacause i think Chris Cornell is a genious ;)

I've only heard alot from Pearl Jam, so that's what I voted, but it doesn't matter much I guess because I don't really know anything about the other bands nor have I heard alot of their music.

I don't think Kurt Cobain was a really great guitar player or singer, but he was an awesome lyricist. The best musician in the group was Dave Grohl. The only reason Nirvana became the 'leader of the pack' is because they got a major record deal first, whereas Pearl Jam's first release was out a full year before 'Nevermind', and only after Nirvana's big label success did things start looking up for them. I still like them, though.

Mad Season is a collaboration between a bunch of Seattle artists including Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), Mike McCreedy(Pearl Jam) and Barrett Martin(Screaming Trees). They put out an album called "Above" in 1995. It's pretty mellow and really good. Check it out if you like there bands.

Thats Temple of the Dog whitch is a callaboration of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

Not really into Grunge. If I had to choose though, it would be a toss-up between Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

Grunge rules! Most of my favorite music came outta that era. 2 songs for you to check out that you may not have heard are "Chloe Dancer/Crowns of Thorns" by Mother Love Bone and also "Nearly Lost You" by the Screaming Trees.

I have albums by all of those bands. It's a very hard choice. Alice in Chains just slighty.
