loving this album.

not sure how they were able to top chemistry of common life but they pulled it off. beautiful story/concept, which surprisingly doesn't weigh down the music.

album of the year (so far!) for me.

Yeah I've listened to it for like 20 times in a row. Bummed I didn't pre-order the LP to get all the extras. Also bummed I'm going to Osheaga the day they're not playing.

no i still listen to matt. but his album doesn't do it for me in the same way this one does. lights is a great album, especially after the abomination that was vancouver. i'm in no way a fanboy though, so just because matt released an album this year, that doesn't mean i have to fawn over it. it's good, but not as good as this record.

Meh, once that guy started singing that was it. I am not a fan of this kind of singing at all...

i don't know if the band name is "fucked up", or "david comes to life". that concerns me.

the first one. it won't trouble you much once you listen to the album!

Yeah I know. It's just that LOES is so good. ;)

Anyway, I agree with Gomo. The vocals immediately turn me off. It's something I've heard all too many times before. The music is kind of catchy but I don't hear anything special or that really grabs me in that song.

I would probably put this as my favourite album of the year so far, maybe tied with Destroyer's Kaputt. PJ Harvey's Let England shake in 2nd or 3rd, and MG 4th.

well to be honest, it's not singing at all... but i don't get what's so bad about it. i get that there are people who don't like screaming, which is fine, but it's weird to me that some people are still this averse to it in 2011. why?

sometimes it's done well, sometimes it isn't. i don't mind screaming, but i don't love it, either.
