Why Does Breaking Bad Suck?

Recommended Posts

this is contrary to everyone else's opinion but since i decide what i like rather than everyone else, i've decided that i don't understand the hype. sure i can counter with the fact that the acting and writing are fine i just don't find it engaging. i found myself watching the whole first season just trying to figure out what made it so engaging to everyone else rather than watching it with suspense and excitement. explain plz.

we'll skip the first response - which will likely be sodamntired and go straight to the second response.

It took me three attempts to make it past the first few episodes of season 1. I do like the show, but personally, I find that when it slows down, it slows down a bit too much and make things drag out. I have no problem with the slow-burn type of drama and tension, but it almost fizzles out a lot of the time which can make it hard to stay engaged.

I will copy and paste this later on in the thread just to make sure you read it :)

i like it, and i watch/follow very very few tv shows. as a matter of fact, the only other shows i watch regularly are mantracker and the big break. what captivates me is the polarization of emotions you can feel toward any one character. when you really start to "hate" one character or root for another and then suddenly switch, the writer has done his job.

I love that show. I can't get enough of it. The writers did an amazing job on the characters. I wish we didn't have to wait so long for the last season to start next summer.

I'm looking for a show that is good as Breaking Bad. Do those two shows fit the bill? If so, maybe I will check them out. I saw one episode of The Big C. That show looks pretty good too. I guess Claire Danes did a pretty good job, because she won a Golden Globe or something for it. I've never seen those shows before.

watch the wire or homeland too. just watch homeland to see all the insane faces and freakouts claire danes does.

I just watched the 1st season of Homeland. You were so right about the faces and the freakouts. haha. I didn't know what you were talking about until the last couple of episodes. Claire sure is a good actress. Is that an acurate depiction of what bipolar disorder is like at a heightened state? I really like that Saul character. He is always so calm and collected. I admire how he treated Carrie with such respect and dropped everything to take care of her when he first learned that she had bipolar disorder. That's a good guy right there. Her sister, father, and nieces were great too. I hope Matt had a strong support system around him like that, when he first learned about his condition.

I watched the first first episodes of the Wire, but that show is hard for me to get into. It seems like a show for guys. Maybe I'll watch some more episodes later.

I'm with you on Breaking Bad. Tried watching a few episodes and got bored so quickly.. I hate watching trainwrecks. For those of you on Netflix, they just realease Orange is the new Black. Love the idea of seeing life in a Prison.
