Look them up, if any peek your interest I bet you that you'll binge watch them. They're addicting, im a dialog fan and these shows balance Dialog & Action perfectly. If you dont mind falling inlove with a character just to have them ripped away from you that is lol.

Do you recommend any of those shows or another good series for a female like me? I was surprised that I enjoyed the Breaking Bad series. I like watching good quality shows that will keep you engaged until the very end. If it has a lot of violence in it, I may or may not be interested.

I tried watching these shows, but I have since lost interest:

(1.) Homeland: I've haven't really watched it seen the main character Brody died

(2.) Orange is the New Black

(3.) The Wire: this show is more for guys, I think

(4.) Downton Abbey: I only watched a few episodes

(5.) Girls

(6.) The Walking Dead: I watched one episode, but I don't like zombies

(7.) Deadwood: I watched the first 10-15 minutes of it, but it wasn't for me.

(8.) Weeds: I only watched one episode

(9.) The Killing: I only watched one episode

Lol I JUST started Homeland.. so now I know not to care too much for Brody.

In the other shows you listed, I also lost interest pretty quickly in them. I don't think you will "Get" The Wire no offense lol. I've watched so many jail shows that go the whole 9 yards that Orange Is The New Black seemed too tame for me lol.

I'll just list off some TV show DVD boxsets that I swear by. Most of these trailers don't even do the shows justice.

I prefer dialogue over violence so with that in mind:

Dexter, dark police drama with humor.

Dexter:

Game Of Thrones, one of the most popular shows atm. If you don't enjoy that but still like medieval style shows move to Vikings.

Game Of Thrones - trailer: http://youtu.be/8ixEWrTLiZg

Vikings (2013 TV Series) HD Trailer:

Death Note, if you don't mind anime but want to enjoy a mindf#ck plot. It really is impossible to put down after the first few episodes because you wanna know what happens, im not even an anime fan but THIS is greatness.

Death Note Anime Trailer: http://youtu.be/ACBpg-1ggLQ

Sons of Anarchy & Peaky Blinders are 2 shows that balance violence and drama very well, I truly have to recommend them both. The first episode alone of Peaky Blinders will get you hooked, and each episode after will keep you there. If you don't mind 1920's, WHICH oddly enough the soundtrack for the show are bands like The Arctic Monkeys, The White Stripes & Nick Cave which you would REALLY think modern music would take you out of a 1920 era show, it actually adds to it. So hats off to the creator because it's a 5/5 show and has really strong female characters too.

Sons Of Anarchy Season 1 Promo/Trailer HD:

Peaky B:

Misfits, a BRILLIANT Uk show about a bunch of teens who are "Misfits" that get superpowers, its hilarious but enough drama that make you care for each character.

Misfits - Series Trailer:

Skins UK, I cannot stress this enough that you have to watch the UK version because the US version is the same god damn version but has its crappy american spin on it.

Skins Series 1 Preview Trailer:

Now if you DONT want to watch Skins UK watch this, it's a mini story for one of the fan favorite characters.

Skins: Rise | Cook's Story | E4:

I just realized I prefer UK shows over anything else haha. :P

I have the worst attention span ever so I cannot sit through a show I don't enjoy at all, everything I listed most of the time had me on the edge of my seat, and when I wasn't I was either laughing or crying.

To conclude,

Peaky Blinders,

Sons Of Anarchy,

Dexter,

Vikings,

Death Note

If you want to watch a really great story that does involve violence but is justified.

Misfits and Skins are more humor/drama, I would highly recommend Misfits if you want to watch a strange, STRANGE show.

I also watch most of my shows (when im too lazy to pop in the dvd) on a free LEGAL no downloading, no viruses, safe legit streaming website that I can message you the link if you want to use it. The domain changes every now and then so I dont wanna leave a link that might be something else in 6 months or whatever. :P Helpin out the future MG fans.

When I remember more shows ill add them, I just woke up. :P

I would revisit Homeland again. It was a slow start this season but the last few episodes have been awesome.

Awesome. Okay, Anton. I will start watching it again. I do enjoy watching Rupert Friend. He's a good looking dude. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks for the comprehensive reviews and tips, Tony and Marcella. This is great!! I look forward to checking out these shows. Do you have Netflix? Is that how you discovered most of these shows or is it though word of mouth? A lot of the shows I have not heard of before.

Omfg I just watched all of "Black Mirror" in one sitting and it was utterly FANTASTIC.

All the episodes are A+! So glad I sat down and gave it a watch. I hope more episodes come out. < Which happens to be tomorrow after checking.

I love how the creator explains the TV show,

"each episode has a different cast, a different setting, even a different reality. But they're all about the way we live now – and the way we might be living in 10 minutes time if we're clumsy." Society really isn't that far off.

My favourite episodes have to be "Be Right Back" which made me cry like a little girl, "White Bear" completely BLEW my mind when the twist happens, "The Entire History Of You" was painful to watch because I can relate x100000 to the main character, I can go on about each episode.

Thank you got sharing that gem with me Marcella. :)

To add, the Waldo one was my least favourite but I think that's because it was the finale and should have been maybe the first or second episode, after going through all my emotions with the rest of the seasons, Waldo was a bit lackluster. I loved the message though.

Please do, right now you're the only one who has seen the show and I'm finished so all I want to do is talk about it! haha.

The other episodes will blooooow you away, it will make you say Waldo who?

It's always scary watching a mini movie style show that's an hourish long each episode, wondering if they will be able to tell a full story without leaving you left hanging or bored after awhile. Every episode was a clean finish, in and out, said what it needed to and moved on, I LOVE it.

Quick advice, for most of the episodes but 2 I believe, once you see the credits at the end there are more clips after, just so you don't do what I did and end the video when you think it's over and look up a review and read about scenes you swear you never saw only to go back and say "OOOHHHHH". :P

I will definitely watch Black Mirror, after I'm up to date on season 4 of Homeland. It sounds like a good one.

You were right, Anton. The first 5 episodes of season 4 of Homeland are pretty good. I will keep watching it.

I just saw the Black Mirror - Be Right Back episode. Very interesting and different. I was shedding a few tears in a few parts of it myself. I look forward to seeing what the other episodes bring. Thanks for telling me about it! This is exactly the type of television shows I was looking for.

Haha I've rewatched "Be Right Back" 3 times and I still cry.

This is something really stupid though, the Black Mirror DVD Collection which has both seasons, is missing season 1 episode 2 "15 Million Merits" which is considered "One of TV's Best Sci-Fi Episodes You'll Probably Never See" that I 100% agree with.

The only thing I can find online about why it's not on there is "Note: Episode 2 of Series 1 is not included due to music clearance issues."

Warning for anyone thinking of buying it.

Thanks Marcella. I will check it out, when I get a chance. So many great tips. I saw White Bear and the Christmas Special last night. The common, underlying theme seems to be that technology is running our lives more than we would like. The Christmas special was pretty good. It was interesting.

White Bear was bizarre and very uncomfortable to watch. The most disturbing part for me was the anonymous bystanders who were just standing there doing nothing, and pointing their smart phones at the girl, who was clearly hysterical. They were part of the game and were recording everything with their smart phones and watching the train wreck unfold. The smart phones, with their recording lights on, were everywhere in the background. It was so annoying to look at. This isn't too far off in reality. You can't walk a few blocks outside without seeing a person walking with their face down, looking at his/her phone or talking to someone on the phone. I see the same thing in drivers on the road. Not too long ago, a person was texting on their phone and she bumped into me, because she wasn't watching where she was going. That was a first. Smart phones are taking over our lives.

Seeing all those smart phones on the White Bear made me wonder what it must feel like for rock bands or musicians at concerts or outdoor festivals. Having all these people point their smart phones at you, to take a picture or record you, must feel bizarre and quite annoying (almost like a caged animal, I would imagine). Maybe I will stop audio recordings at concerts from now. The majority of the time, the venue doesn't permit it, and what happened to the simplicity and joy of enjoying the concert for the sake of it? I don't need to bring technology into it (that is, recording devices or cameras). I have lost sight of this for a long period of time. Memories are far more valuable. I think learned my lesson from watching a televison show on youtube. Who knew that watching a TV show could be so powerful?

I always take a few photos for the memories, but I don't do it the entire show. I also think another point White Bear made was that in a lot of videos of a fight in public, or someone needing help, most of the time people will stand around and record it than actually help.

The singer of Slipknot Corey Taylor poured water on a fan in the front row recently who was glued to her phone (more or less texting than actually taking pictures or paying attention to the show) and the online backlash was retarded. One argument being "I bought a ticket I'm allowed to do what I want" and the dumbest argument being "I paid for your house, you can't tell me to not take pictures".

To that I say, ON THE TICKETS IT SAYS NO CAMERAS, and buying a ticket to a concert does not mean you're entitled to be a piece of shit. You're ruining the experience for the people behind you and you're ruining it for the band who wants to see faces not cameras. If you honestly get offended by being told to put your phone down for more than an hour you need help, you really need help.

I was 17 when I got my first cell phone, and all my friends said "Wow you must have had a boring childhood" How? I got to see life through my eyes and not through a camera, kids these days as young as 11 have cell phones, they're just gone out of reality.

Today's society think they're entitled to so much and it just hurts my god damn brain.

Reminds me that when I was in Disneyland recently I left my phone in the hotel safe and decided to limit photo taking to under 30 pictures or so for a four-day vacation, quite simply because I didn't want to see what I was seeing through a lens, I just wanted to experience it as it came. I don't miss the extra photos and I certainly enjoyed having a romantic dinner for the first time in a long time, without either my husband or I feeling the need to pull out our phones. I highly recommend it. I heard about a game where you are out at a bar or restaurant with your friends - everyone's phone goes face down on the table. The first person to pick their phone up pays for everyone!!!

I like those ideas. I know exactly what you mean about the extras photos. I don't miss them either. I am missing out on the actual experiences.

Kudos to that singer. He very smart for doing that. When I was younger, my brother did the exact same thing to me when I was doing something really stupid. Boy, did that ever catch my attention. It stopped me right in my tracks. I never did a stupid thing like that ever again.

Haha actually to tell a quick embarrassing story. I either take photos when a band is coming on stage, banter, or leaving the stage. One of my favorite metal band's from Germany was playing a concert in Vancouver, I met them and they took me backstage to drink and party and signed all my stuff and took photos and one of the guitarist's who I became good friends with that night actually GAVE me his guitar he broke the headstock off after the show which was unbelievable.

BUT..

Ugh..

What I didn't KNOW was that they ended up shooting a music video for one of their new songs and used that concert footage.. and literally the first 5 seconds of the clip is ME turning off my phone but it LOOKS like im texting while they're rocking above me (front row) and I still can't watch that video just because of how BADLY it made me out to be. :p At least there are clips later on of me headbanging so I hope nobody left a comment saying "Look at that asshole texting" because I sure as shit would. :p

Haha. What are the odds? Do you have a clip of that video? I wouldn't mind seeing that.

I didn't know singers, like Slipknot's Corey Taylor, were throwing water on fans until I read what you wrote. That's ballsy. I like it. I hope more bands and singers do that. It sends out a bold, in-your-face statement. I read this article about Slipknot's Corey Taylor and thought it was interesting:

COREY TAYLOR: GET OFF YOUR PHONES AND PAY ATTENTION

Slipknot frontman says he squirts water at fans using camera phones

Corey Taylor says he tries to pour water on anyone who uses their mobile phones at Slipknot gigs.

The singer hates seeing fans filming gigs on their phones – and he'll do whatever it takes to stop it from happening.

Taylor tells 101 WRIF: "I see it every once in a while. People don't do it so much at our shows, and if they do, they do it from quite a way back, because I empty whole water bottles into people as soon as I see them staring at their phone or tweeting or whatever.

"There was this one poor girl, and God bless her, she was a fan, but at the same time, she wasn't being very covert about it. So I emptied four bottles on to her, and it had to have broken her phone. And then she was just bummed for the rest of the night, and I just kept shrugging at her, going, 'Hey, it's a live show. Pay attention, or don't be here.'

"People need to unplug and realise they're missing their lives. It's sad. And that may be me just being an old jerk, but I don't care."

Taylor adds that he goes out of his way to laugh at people who trip when looking at their phones on the street.

He says: "So many people have their faces glued to their phones and they're not paying attention. I point and laugh any time I see somebody trip walking down the street, and I'm brutal — I mean, I'm brutal. It's loud, it's obnoxious, there's a lot of pointing, I'm asking people, 'Did you see that?' I love it. I think it's funny.

"Get off your phones and pay attention to what they hell you're doing."

Taylor is not the only musician to hit out at the use of phones at gigs. In August, Kate Bush asked fans not to ruin her shows by filming on their camera phones. In the same month, Peter Frampton grabbed a fan's phone and threw it towards the back of the stage.

Here is Dave Grohl commenting on computers.

http://www.nme.com/news/foo-fighters/81211

But it's so hilarious reading comments about a musician coming out and telling fans to put away their phones or computers and how OFFENDED people get, it's laughably disturbing. People spend so much of their god damn time on these replaceable items that they think it's a part of them now and will be defensive if ever told they can live life without it. Its sad.

Ugh...... white shirt....

0:15, CRINGEWORTHY!!

Of course they don't add the clip with me playing drums with the lead singer during a song.

WHAT AM I DOING AT 1:30 I WANT TO DIE RIGHT NOW. :p

haha. Yeah, you looked good, nothing cringe worthy. It definitely looked like you were texting. Wow, you sure were in the middle of all of the action there. It looked like a cool concert experience. Nice moves at 1:30 by the way. Better than I can do, that's for sure. haha

Regarding white bear, would you visit there?

I could never visit there.

But I wasn't texting :'( I was just waiting for my phone to turn off. <\3

The stage went up to your knees so when the crowd pushed behind you, not a whole lot you can do.

I'm now thankful for Matthew Good not having a live DVD because there would probably be footage of me front row crying and singing my brains out.

I'd choose "White Bear" over the christmas special, that was just depressing. Imagine being stuck in that situation.

Is it not eerie that White Bear doesn't exist, but in a decade or two there could be places like that, and people would actually go?

(Semi-Spoilers) I watched a documentary on VICE about these 2 guys who were like the Wedding Crashers, but went to executions, just because they were bored. So people going to a park/zoo for criminals wouldn't surprise me one day.

I have no idea. That sound about right to me. I missed that part. Was that phrase used in the guy's angry rant on the talent show? I thought 15 Million Merits was interesting, weird, and different from any other show I've seen before.

I see. Thanks for clearing that up. I will check out that link when I have time. You're right about Gone Girl. That was a disturbing, weird movie with a strange, abrupt ending. I wish they made a better ending that made sense. At the end, I was thinking, "That's it?"

I saw "Gone Girl" discussed here and finally decided to sit down and watch it since I've gone years ignoring the praise this movie has received.

And it's by far one of the worst fucking movies I've ever seen, ever.
