Upcoming Concerts

I thought it would be cool for any concert-goers to share their upcoming events they will be attending, or bands they hope to see this year. I for one always find out about shows at the last minute so making a calender doesn't hurt lol.

These are specifically for Vancouver.

Ed Kowalczyk - March 3rd. He's the lead singer of Live. He's playing their infamous album "Throwing Copper" in it's entirety acoustically which is fabulous.

Disturbed & Nonpoint - March 11th. Taking my dad to it so we can cross it off his bucket-list, it's going to be fun regardless because it's an arena-size metal band playing the Commodore Ballroom so it's almost like seeing Metallica within the first 10 rows. Up close & personal.

Wolfmother - April 1st.

Brand New - June 2nd.

At The Drive-In - June 7th. Closest I'll ever get to seeing Mars Volta live.

Hopeful concerts this year would be Pearl Jam, Radiohead & Matthew Good obviously.

I hope to see Matthew Good and Radiohead in Vancouver this year.

Other bands I hope to see in the near future, if they are touring, are:

Rush

Kandle

Explosions in the Sky

Justin Nozuka

Stars

I can't think of anyone else right now.

No but they are headlining almost a dozen North American festivals this year also a new album is apparently about to be released. I'm sure a world tour will follow.

I realized I forgot to mention I hope TOOL also plays Vancouver by the end of the year. That would make my life even though they are a few years past their prime.

Explosions in the Sky is releasing a new album in April and have said they're going to tour extensively in 2016/2017, so I'm excited for that. One of the best concerts I've ever been to was seeing them at the Vogue.

Kandle is also gearing up to record another album, so hopefully she makes it back west this year as well.

I just found out, thanks to this thread, that Brand New was touring. So, I'm looking into that haha ... loose plans to hit Osheaga for Radiohead. I want to see Explosions as well this year, as has been mentioned before. Obviously another Matt Good show wouldn't go amiss...Riot Fest.

Last year was a great year for concerts, so I'm hoping this one is just as good.

Ah frig. I forgot on Friday to get my mom her ticket to At the Drive-In at the Phoenix in Toronto. Of course it's sold out. They even added a second night. Which is also sold out. And stub hub prices are in freaking USD. And our dollar sucks. And a ticket to Friday's show will now cost me 134$. But that was what I wanted to get her for Mother's Day. One of her favourite bands.

Anyone know if by some miracle they're maybe adding a Montreal show instead??

Or anyone got an extra ticket they want to sell me for like 70-80$ CDN.

I just got tickets to a small show:  it's Maria Doyle Kennedy and Jill Zmud.  It's being held at the Blackseep in Wakefield, QC.

I don't know Jill Zmud at all, and am new to Maria's music, though I know her from her acting:  she was in Dexter, and Orphan Black.

Good luck getting your tickets Emma!

Oh yeah I'm also going to see Paul McCartney on April 19th in Vancouver, I love the Beatles and I've wanted to see Paul live for a while. He's getting up there in age so I figured I better see him while I still can.

This summer is shaping up to be awesome!

Against Me! just announced more dates, and they're coming to London in June!  I've never had the chance to see them, so I'm pretty excited for that.  Their last album, Transgender Dysmorphia Blues was amazing.  They should have a new one out around that time.

Jeez now I wish I went. The only reason I didn't is because of the latest footage I've seen of Cedric "half-assing" the vocals, buzzkill.
