Radiohead: A Moon Shaped Pool

So I just realized that Radiohead released a new album this year. My taste in music has shifted quite a bit over the years but there's something comforting in new Radiohead music. I'm super into the lead single.

I'm a big fan of Daydreaming myself. Bought the album a month or two back but I really only like 3-4 of the songs.

I really got into them around Kid A.  I can't say I really like any of their newer stuff.  The newest single isn't bad though.

I thought this album was a real return to form.  I had not enjoyed one of their albums this much since Hail to the Theif (which I first hated following KIDA/Amnesiac).

I kind of see Radiohead as a band with a few distinct and different eras (which is a common thread running through most of my favorite artists).

 

I place at the very top of the pile Ok Computer and In Rainbows (which I think is their best work), and a Moon Shaped Pool is right underneath those two.  A wonderful return to from after the underwhelming King of Limbs (which I felt was a bit Thom Yorke heavy).

They do have distinct and different eras that is for sure.  It will be interesting to see where they go from here.
