So has Matt officially said that "Big City Life" was derived from "Flashdance II"... cuz boy... are those songs similar!

At the last concert, I thought Rich was playing the bass intro to Flashdance II.

 

And everytime Matt broke into the Big City Life chorus, I thought it was the Flashdance II chorus.

The lyrics you posted for Big City Life, are wrong I think. At least the chorus.

 

This summer I was lucky enough to go to his soundcheck, where there was only about 20 people in the room, which makes the music alot easier to hear.

 

I think the chorus goes like this

 

"Carolina, was a gambler

So She came into the city

There she died when she was 21

This Big City Life Is Fun"
