Now, is it me, or has Matt, as far as the website is concerned and his blog, simply become a massive tool? The guy is just about the most indecisive person ive never met, I honestly don't give a crap about the website anymore. Make up your goddamn mind about the design and leave it for more than one week at a time. And secondly, he really needs to get a day job or something, hes a bloody news addict. It is pretty sad to think that a large portion of his day is undoubtedly spent sitting in front of a computer going from reuters.com to the BBC online to CNN.com to the NYT online to yahoonews to the Guardian online, and back 8 or 9 times just to see if anything has changed. The man is taking years off his life and is making himself a paranoid zealot for a cause that is constructed in his mind alone. The man seriously needs to go hiking for a week up in guarabaldi or spend a serious amount of time away from a computer...I wonder what Jenn thinks about all this, or if she has just become brainwashed from him and become a 'yes man' to him. I wonder if he still makes love to her anymore, because of his lack of time from surfing news sites 25 hours a day.

How do you know he looks at the news 9 times a day? I highly doubt he does, but he does look simply because it interests him. Some people do this kinda thing. Maybe theres people who visit the bored 9 times a day or look up porn 9 times day. What it comes down to is that it doesnt matter.

Interesting thread.

My thoughts:

- im glad that matty spends time actually caring about the world and assumes that his fans are actually intelligent and compassionate enough to not only be informed, but understand as well ...

- would it be better if he was ignorant like some cardboard cut out pesduo "rock/pop stars"

- why the fuck should someone care how he spends his day? as long as he continues to craft his art and turns it into music for people that care, get off it

- i really have nothing more to add.

i'm not sure how anyone can find fault in another person wanting to educate themselves.....if matt wants to spend his afternoon reading the news, then good for him. its no different than those of us who are in school. we spend our afternoons in class learning, or doing our homework. in my opinion its the same thing, yet no one finds fault in students for that...and the reason the web design keeps changing is because he wants it to be perfect. he has been unhappy with what it has looked like so far, so he keeps changing it for the better... and what is being refered to when Dookas says "The man is taking years off his life and is making himself a paranoid zealot for a cause that is constructed in his mind alone."? uh, i might be mistaken but i dont think he is imagining the war in iraq or any of the other issues that he discusses in his blog. if you think he's imagining it, then you don't agree with his point of view (which is your right), so go watch cnn and stop complaining. other people really enjoy his blog and appreciate the amount of time he puts into it.

This is a complete compliment even though it might not sound like one: I can only imagine what kind of thoughtful response you would have given had this original thread poster not been a complete goof...

"matt good's lyrics suck now" "oh he is so self righteous" "he's too opinionated" bla bla bla...i'm sure we've heard it all...give the man a break for christ's sake...first of all, who made you so high and mighty that you felt you could just waltz in here and shoot your mouth off?(to a MATT GOOD FANSITE...HELLO??...what about the words MATT GOOD FANSITE don't you understand???? don't like it? no one's stopping you from leaving) second of all, now i'm gonna go out on a limb here, but i think being educated about the world and human rights is just a LITTLE bit more worthwhile than being a whiny lowlife with nothing better to do than to complain about a website...but who am i to judge...seriously though... couldn't you have come up with something more substancial to complain about...

First of all 'princess', I am perhaps one of the biggest fans you'll ever meet, Matt is one of my all time favorite artists. I find his music both power and highly sentimental. I, in fact am an international affairs major, so I take pride in being educated about world events. I'm not criticizing about him personally, I'm criticizing the way he presents himself. He presents himself as an all knowing guru of politics and foreign policy. In terms of criticism, that seems to be all Matt does, so forgive me for having MY criticisms. He simply berates everything thats wrong, but never gives opinion on how to make it right (lest of course Amnesty is an option, which seems to be the only option in his eyes) I respect the man whole heartedly I just think he is very one sided and fails to look at other options and take into other people's worldviews. I simply don't like how he chooses to post articles from authors or journalists who share his views and his views only, this is ignorance and this is falling in line with making false assumptions. So I guess he has the right to complain, but I don't, that's cool I guess, very Matt thing to say.

Jeez, ever checked the news? It takes like, 30 seconds a site, if you find nothing interesting.

 

MG probably spends an hour or two at the computer a day? Who cares, i know i don't. You've gotta keep busy somehow, and it's better to be informed than run around bitching about things that NO ONE cares about. Hmm, maybe the world doesn't matter to you, but i take it fairly seriously:D

hey man (dookas??)...i'm not trying to start anything or be one sided....i'm just defending someone who's not here to defend himself...i'm glad you're a fan and i'm glad you're educated but really...you came off pretty harsh there...i'm sure we can all appreciate the need for a little constructive criticism once in a while (if that's what you were aiming for)...but i think you may not have been very "open-minded" yourself......PLUSquote you:"I'm not criticizing about him personally, I'm criticizing the way he presents himself."...you commented on his love-life buddy...i'm sorry...but it sounds to me like that may be a little bit personal...i dunno but that doesn't sound to me like a very 'educated' thing to say....
