I don't really find Matt's music depressing at all... even though there are alot of slower songs, some with rather bleak lyrics. I think there is something about the way he sings them that makes them beautiful rather than depressing.

I don't find Empty Road to be depressing. I think it's one of his more uplifting songs. I think his most depressing song (also one of his best) is The Rat Who Would Be King.

Although I don't really find that many MG songs depressing, I've got to agree with Alex.. Running for Home is a pretty sad song, and the perfect way to end a perfect album.

I voted prime time deliverance just because its not the kind of song i feel happy after hearing. But i would say the fine art of falling apart tops any.

I have three possible depressing Matt Good songs.....that are very depressing....."Apparations", "Running For Home", and "Sort of A Protest Song"...not to mention "In A World Called Catastrophe" because it was written about the breakup of his band.
