Bush has not attended a single Iraq funeral.

I Have a Rendezvous With Death

by Alan Seeger d.1916

I have a rendezvous with Death

At some disputed barricade,

When Spring comes back with rustling shade

And apple-blossoms fill the air -

I have a rendezvous with Death

When Spring brings back blue days and fair.

It may be he shall take my hand

And lead me into his dark land

And close my eyes and quench my breath -

It may be I shall pass him still.

I have a rendezvous with Death

On some scarred slope of battered hill

When Spring comes round again this year

And the first meadow-flowers appear.

God knows 'twere better to be deep

Pillowed in silk and scented down,

Where Love throbs out in blissful sleep,

Pulse nigh to pulse, and breath to breath,

Where hushed awakenings are dear...

But I've a rendezvous with Death

At midnight in some flaming town,

When Spring trips north again this year,

And I to my pledged word am true,

I shall not fail that rendezvous.

That bastard Bush was off toting his missle defence program to Canada, which really pissed off Martin, apparently. That day in school, we had an assembly and watched a World Vision video. We saw some of the worst pictures of the suffering people in developing countries go through every day. It was sobering, to say the least. It's estimated that $9 billion could give the entire world clean drinking water. That's about the price of an F22 fighter jet, if I'm not mistaken. And less than 10% of the price of the missile-defence program. A new completely furnished school is $15000. Think about it. I came home and read about Bush's push for Canada to join his plan, and I wanted to scream.

If I recally correctly, pictures of the coffins of soldiers that were serving in Iraq are extremely difficult to get a hold of. Has this policy changed?

Also, it lends kerry some respect that, even though he lost the election, he's still doing the sorts of PR things that we might expect from any politician, if not the president himself.

Ok, I don't mean to sound like a spoil sport or anything. Personally, I don't like either Kerry or Bush, but I prefered Bush OVER Kerry. If Bush were to do something like this then everyone would be quick to jump on him accusing him of a shotty publicity stunt and he doesn't deserve the respect of anyone. When Kerry does this, then he is percieved as a caring and compassionate person. It is just irritating to me. This is sort of similar to the "Matt Good say 'nook-you-ler' thing. Bush says it, everyone pounces on him and calls him an idiot. Matt Good 'says' it and no opinions change.

If he'd take responsibility for his mistakes, I'd look at things differently. If he had been to any of the funerals at the start of this whole mess, I'd look at things differently. If George W. Bush knew what it was like to watch friends die, if he knew what war was like, I'd look at things differently. Or maybe it's just my ingrained liberal bias ;)

The fact that you said "flip flop" leads me to believe you've gotten information from a right wing news source such as Fox News. I guess we should make fun of him for "looking french".

PS - If you haven't seen "Outfoxed", then the above joke may be lost on you. But this is intended as a good humoured remark. Oh, and try and see "Outfoxed", it's great.

Wow, you can't accuse me of only watching right winged news station simply because I used 'flip flop'. Everything you've said against Bush leads me to beleive you only watch left wing news stations such as CNN. There are no unbiased broadcast companies out there. Yes, I know Bush has changed his mind on things as well, but not as critical and rapidly as Kerry has in the past.

You may be right, but it would be a bigger problem if he was at the funerals then if he wasn't, simply for the security issues. Family/friends blame of him could boil over and lead to violent actions.

CNN, a left wing station? Nope, that just doesn't sound right.

And I'd like to add that I'm glad I live in Canada.

So...what was with all the controversy regarding their polling results throughout the 2000 and 2004 elections...oh well. Canadian news is completely left and with information towards Bush and Kerry, it was apparent that they did not like Bush either. You can't just that my opinion is based solely on what I watch, because the same may go for you. I honestly don't care who people like, as long as they know why they like that person.

Of course my opinion is based on what I watch. That's a good way to get information. But it's also combined with what I read. And I'm not a person to just believe everything I hear, I'm going to think about it and then decide.

And you're right, Canada is pretty leftist and I'm glad for that. I think a leftist attitude puts people first and points the way to a much more accepting society.

I don't know a lot about John Kerry, but I do know that Bush stands for a lot of stuff that I do not believe in. That's why I would prefer Kerry.

And I don't mean to judge you in any way, I don't even know you. Please realize I'm keeping this a friendly debate and I do respect what you have to say.

While the media here is more likely to give a liberal viewpoint, I don't think that was the case during the election when the Conservatives were virtually given a free pass and the Liberals got hounded and hounded in the press. I guess "liberal media" is a term used for a media source that won't question the government too much.

Behond what the media says there's the truth of the matter too. Bush and his bastard buddies went against the United Nations and fucking well invaded a country that has nothing to do with anything except they happen to be brown like Bin Laden. What if the group that attacted on 9/11 happened to be 'multi cultural'? Would the US have attacked Canada? Or maybe Belgium?

Bush sucks. I hate the motherfucker. There is no media corp in the world that could make me like him.
