because i'm a 14 year old nu-metal wannabe.. however, if slipknot was a highlight of the year, that speaks loads about the year.. and dismiss it all you like, but it was musically and lyrically a huge step in a different direction - which is why it made my list.

There have already been two mentions of Alter Bridge and one for Out Of Your Mouth in the context of 'best album of the year' in this thread. Therefore, it must be destroyed.

hey C-Bacon, is the limblifter album worth it, i was trying to decide the other day

It's well worth it. Go buy it now. Or, sample the album off SoulSeek, then buy it.

this was a fantastic year for music.

if you cared to listen, that is.

personally i cant stand music like Killers or Franz Ferdinand

I hate the Killers.

Franz Ferdinand is a fine pop combo, however.

Other way around for me, Franz Ferdinand tries way too hard to be hip and their music is too disjointed and annoying; hard to listen to all the way through.

It's irritating and incoherent, a pain to have to listen to.

at least they arnt parading around as a Duran Duran cover band.

Duran Duran wasnt good in the 80's, and its not good now.

...maybe, but then again FF is more like an imitation of Kraftwerk, which incidentally, sucked even worse than Duran Duran.
