Ok, personally I don't think MG is about the singles, and I find many of his best songs weren't released as singles, so creating a best-of collection filled almost entirely with singles is misguided to say the least. That is not to say that there aren't a few singles that deserve to be on there, simply that the majority should include his best work rather than what we get bombarded with on the radio.

Henceforth, my nominations for a reasonable 14-track compilation (trying to give play to each release):

1. Hello Time Bomb

2. In Love With a Bad Idea

3. Flashdance II

4. Apparitions

5. Fearless

6. The Fall of Man

7. Avalanche

8. Prime Time Deliverance

9. Strange Days

10. Generation X-Wing

11. Man of Action

12. Weapon

13. The War is Over

14. Change of Season

That is to say, that should be the track list if a best-of had to be released, although I'm against an actual best-of album per se. Releasing best-of albums is a ploy of has-beens used to make more money or regain some of the attention that they miss. MG is neither superficial-attention seeking or a has been, and should opppose such a best-of collection at least until he does retire from music, which, hopefully, won't be any time soon.

That is all.

I think the best of collection would just be MGB since the MGB is no more and his solo career has practically just started. I think it would be cool if he rerecorded some of the songs the way he played them on the last tour and Avalanche tour.

1.Alabama Motel Room

2.Symbolistic White Walls(the new version with the extended lyrics)

3.Generation X-Wing

4.Everything Is Automatic

5.Indestructible

6.Apparitions(solo acoustic)

7.Rico

8.Deep Six

9.Giant(new version)

10.Hello Time Bomb(new version that gets slower towards the end)

11.The Future Is X-Rated

12.Strange Days

13.Load Me Up(new version leading into Carmelina)

14.Carmelina(new version)

15.Anti-Pop

16.Pony Boy

17.All Together

4. Deep Six

5. Man Of Action

6. Primetime Deliverance

7. Suburbia

8. Tripoli

9. Sort Of A Protest Song

10. House Of Smoke And Mirrors

11. Pony Boy

12. All Together

13. Pledge of Allegiance (live version)...somehow.

I think the idea of releasing a b-sides album would be the best idea, even if it came limited ed.. A best-of cd is good and all, but I already have those songs on disc, and computer...

cheers

I think I'd perfer a double (as in 2 CD's) live album to a simple collection of songs from albums most of us own.

From a Kids in the Hall Skit:

Kevin: Oh right! [Looking through the record bin eagerly] I guess I should start with the Greatest Hits?!

Bruce: Hey! Greatest Hits are for housewives and little girls!

I hate best of albums, because they usually contain a couple unreleased tracks, dragging collectors into buying them, and the rest is obviously something one already has.

I would most likely not buy this. I would much rather have a live album.
