Recommended Posts

good article: http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/021...isted11-ON.html

British radio station "Planet Rock" released its own list that has gotten world-wide media coverage. Their list:

The Planet Rock List:

1. "Stairway To Heaven" Led Zeppelin

2. "Freebird" Lynyrd Skynyrd

3. "Bohemian Rhapsody" Queen

4. "Smoke On The Water" Deep Purple

5. "Paranoid" Black Sabbath

6. "Whole Lotta Love" Led Zeppelin

7. "Hotel California" The Eagles

8. "Rock And Roll" Led Zeppelin

9. "Highway To Hell" AC/DC

10. "All Along The Watchtower" Jimi Hendrix

However, former Twisted-Sister frontman and now-radio DJ Dee Sniper got pissed and made his own list:

The Dee Snider list:

1. "Stairway To Heaven" Led Zeppelin

2. "Back In Black" AC/DC

3. "One" Metallica

4. "Freebird" Lynyrd Skynyrd

5. "Sweet Child Of Mine" Guns 'N' Roses

6. "Enter Sandman" Metallica

7. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" Nirvana

8. "For Those About To Rock" AC/DC

9. "Bohemian Rhapsody" Queen

10. "Gimme Shelter" The Rolling Stones

So everyone please post their OWN list of what should be the Top 10 rock songs ever, and try to be objective and not just post a list of only your own personal-favorites.

And rule #1 - NO MATT GOOD SONGS!

Not nessecarly in that order, but I'm too lazy to try and sort them. How can you say Teenage Wasteland is any better or worse than Lucky Man? I figure if you're in the top 10 thats good enough right?

there aren't 10 great rock songs

sure there are and they all begin and end with STAIRWAY TO MOTHERFUCKING HEAVEN

Ad the risk of making you think I'm even more of a moron. (you did say you wouldn't hold it against me), but anyone who truly likes Zeppelin knows that Stairway to Heaven isn't actually their best song, way overrated.

I mean, it's great, but certainly not a top 10-all-time favourite.

That's is all.

Maybe next time you should lace your post with more blatantly obvious sarcasm. Some people are gullible here.

well, i guess if they didnt catch it, maybe they didnt deserve to in the first place ;)

by the way isnt it awesome how we were talking about my post being 'laced' with stuff?

Ace of Spades - Motorhead

Paint It Black - Rolling Stones

Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2

I don't get why we are suppose to be "objective"??? What if someone does like Stariway to Heaven or Free Bird??? For example, i love Zeppelin and Skynyrd, but those aren't my favorites from them. Here's my makeshift list that may not contain 10 and is in no real order... i will obey the no Matt Good rule though.

Black, Pearl Jam

Alive, Pearl Jam

Jeremy, Pearl Jam

No Quarter, Led Zeppelin

Simple Man, Lynryd Skynyrd

Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns, Mother Love Bone

Baba O Reilly, The Who

Won't Get Fooled Again, The Who

Behind Blue Eyes, The Who

Everlong, Foo Fighters

Pushit, Tool

All Along The Watchtower, Jimi Hendrix

Running Down a Dream, Tom Petty

Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana

Go With The Flow, Queens of the Stone Age
