This Is The Wost Time In Music Ever!

Recommended Posts

I know I will probaly get flammed for this but Matts music has been getting worse (not bad! just not as good) aswell. I was thouroughly dissapointed with WLRR, it was good but nothing compared to BM or Underdogs.

Nowadays its all about listening to the indie bands, and bad religion. They are old but still killer.

Their final album, Let it Be, should be heard in the 'Naked' version with the grey cover.  The original release was soiled by Phil Spector's over production, whereas 'Naked' keeps the orignal intent of the album, which was to be raw, and with no overdubs.

Just a little info you might not know, "Let It Be" was the last one released, but not the last one recorded. Abbey Road is actually considered the final Beatles album.

As for "Naked", its more the McCartney cut of the album, not to say it isnt good or anything.

Don't worry, I know all of this already, I just didn't want to make my post confusing. I figure anyone who wants to know can find out themselves with a little research.

I appreciate the concern, though.

And in my opinion, 'Naked' is the way better cut of the album, but I really don't like Spector's production on anything.

There has never been a good or bad year for music. Mainstream music maybe. But music will always be music. If you look for it, you will find it.

Try:

Elliott Smith

The Decemberists

Mates of State

The Postal Service

Belle & Sebastian

Of Montreal

The Shins

Sneaker Pimps

Sparta

Zero 7

Those are all bands/singers that are each different from one another. I used them to give good examples from more than one category.

Every decade in music since the 60's has been more or less inferior to the one that preceded it, and this one is proving to be no exception.  That said, there's still more than enough great music to go around.  If I can make a list of my favourite 50 albums from last year, and love them all, I'm sure you can find at least 10 you'll like.

I'm sure you've heard, and decided you don't like, all 50 of those. ;)

based on the 28% that i have heard and dislike, it is safe to assume.

I've never met anyone that didn't like at least one of the: Xiu Xiu, Arcade Fire, Dungen, Ted Leo, Loretta Lynn, McLusky, or Iron and Wine records.
