Yeah I'm w/ wmarskell I cant fathom it even realizing that people were drunk.

So fucking stupid that people would do that, and can you imagine if Ryan had been hit in the head w/ that wrench?

We should go to where these people work and throw shoes and wrenches at them.

This is why I stay away from UBC. Not to say that everyone at UBC is bad, but I've been to parties there and it's such a get as drunk as possible mentality. I've never understood that. I've partied, I've been drunk, but I've never been destructive or abusive. I just don't get it.

i think it's cause they get so mad, the "idiots" think it's funny to provoke him. most artists don't yell at the crowd and threaten to walk off stage so people get bored with throwing stuff cause it doesn't bug them. reverse phychology!!!

i don't think people should throw anything in the first place, but there will always be idiots, like the one that punched me in the head (at ACF) for liking Matt Good. (WTF?)

cheers.

Apparently you've never been Uvic. They're way worse. I think UBC parties are tame (except some frat ones here and there) compared to Uvic.

Anyways, Im pretty sure they did not throw it cause they didn't like Matt, more of "hey lets see how far I can throw this wrench on stage and fuck shit up!" which is pretty dumb. As for shoes, people lose them in the moshpits, and the generally get thrown to the front to collect, some people see the shoes and decide the stage is a better place to throw them. Band members being on the stage, seem to get the short end of the stick there.

ACF was like a mild US concert festival, from the ones I've seen. Bikers hanging out in the mosh pit beating unconcious the most helpless young kids, cause they think it's funny. My friend and I saw at least 10 rapes happening and when we told security, they told us they don't care, if we wanna stop it do it ourselves. (we did recruit one biker to help us with 3 of the girls). i saw a guy get stabbed with an umbrella in his stomache, kids snuck in mace to get themselves close to the stage, at one of the shows somebody got shot (we seen the commotion). "some" of those americans are crazy, but then again there were lots of "crazy canadians" at ACF. I guess i'm starting to get old, cause these kinds of shows just aren't fun. i go for the music, not to get drunk and rowdy and fuck shit up! anyways i thought ACF was bad, but i have seen worse, and i'm glad that it didn't get even worse, which could've happened easily!

cheers!

Yeah, that is weird that he draws such a rowdy crowd. I've been to a few shows at the Commodore and people are crazy. I guess it's because he's a rock act, but most fans seem more intelligent than that. I think alcohol must be a major factor.

I love going to see shows, but people can really ruin it. I can't believe how violent some people get, just in general. It makes me mad. Fucking people.

From what I've seen, Matt's fans are pretty cynical, they've always been, as he was, so when they get a few too many beers in them, that stuff is bound to happen. Matt is also really opinionated in public and used to come off as an asshole, which leads to alot of people wanting to "rebel" and go to his shows, whether his music is upbeat enough or not for such moshpits to happen.

Nah, you know what I think. I think the people that get out of hand aren't the real fans. If you're a real fan, you go there to listen to the music and see the show, you're not going to do anything to fuck up the show. It's the people that go just to go that fuck it up. They don't care.
