Pearl Jam Announce Biggest Canadian Tour To Date

By:ChartAttack.com Staff

Seattle's never-quitting alternative act Pearl Jam have announced that they will soon be heading out on their largest Canadian tour ever.

The coast-to-coast tour will hit 15 cities in total, likely starting in Vancouver at the beginning of September and ultimately winding up at St. John's, Newfoundland near the end of that month.

Concert promoter Paul Mercs told Canoe.ca that this will be the most "extensive tour of Canada," by an international outfit of such high prestige. Mercs went on to comment that the grunge pioneers will be playing material "spanning their 15-year" tenure and that Canadian fans will be the first to hear the new material off of their brand-new record.

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready recently told Billboard.com that the band is roughly "halfway there" in completing the new LP — the band's eighth studio album and the first release on their new label, J Records/Sony BMG.

Although nothing's been officially announced, tickets for shows in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Quebec City, Halifax and St. John's are likely to go on sale around the end of May. If you're a member of Pearl Jam's Ten Club, though, you can get tickets starting Tuesday on the band's website.

you cannot honestly say that pearl jam are worse. Riot Act is one of their best albums, yeild is often overlooked, and No Code is underratted.

Its amazing what happens with no video on MTV. no press must mean the music is bad becuase they are not played every hour like a good band like.... i dunno... simple plan?

"yield" is one of my favorite pj's albums and i'd love to see them live again (I saw them some years ago in Madrid and their concert was spectacular and of great quality)

have fun - to those who are going - in their concert! ;)
