Kinda surprised to not see a thread about this album. I guess that comes with The Bored being down for the longest few days ever.

Anywho, I picked up the album today and I am very impressed. The sound is still obviously System, but it's still a departure from the older stuff. Radio/Video and Violent Pornography are easily my favourite songs on the album.

I'm not sure what i think yet. SoaD are one of my favourite bands, but i think this album is going to take some getting used to. I think BYOB is kind of boring though.

I like the album, but I'm not sure where it ranks on my 'best SOAD album' list right now. It's been at my boyfriends for a week now so I haven't had a chance to listen as much.

Really love Violent Pornography. Find myself at work singing 'itsanonstopdiscobetyouitsnabiscobetyoudidntknow'.

Also like Lost In Hollywood. Cool song to end the cd off.

'All you maggots smoking fags out there on Hollywood Boulevard". Love that line.

That is the only thing i hate about System. And Weezer, too. I despise paying $15-$25 for short cd's. 4 of the songs off of STA were Toxicity bsides anyway...

Maybe they are. I read a article, right before Toxicity was released that spoke of 'the four bsides' that the band didn't know what to do with. I also read that a few written for a new album, but were put on STA just to give it flow. I figured that the rest were just songs they'd written and never recorded, or written during downtime or something. (not to say that they normally write on command, only when an album is desired.)

It would make sense for them to be newer though, they don't sound like self-titled...

EDIT: Some of the songs are from soundtracks.

EDITEDIT: If "Metro" were on STA, it would have been the best SoaD album, hands down. God i love that song...

I found 'Mezmerize' to be very ordinary.

BYOB and Cigaro had already been released/leaked out. Track 1 is an intro, Radio/Video and Say Goodbye to Hollywood are shite. Which only leaves half a dozen tracks.

I do agree the two vocals are used to much on this album. It needed to be used sparingly like on Toxicity. ATWA was such a good song.
