sometimes, for whatever reason, songs just don't make the cut to an album.

 

what are some of your favorite b-sides or rarities??

 

mine include (in no order):

 

tool - "no quarter"

foo fighters - "just another story about skeeter thompson"

autolux - "under orbit"

nine inch nails - "get down, make love"

this is a tough line to draw.. is no quarter really a b-side? it wasn't intended to be on an album, it just happened to be on an atypical album.

i consider salival to be a collection of bsides and live tracks. although it might not be. i always just think of it as something that they threw together.

Something for Kate have a great collection of b-sides. They even released an album - Phantom Limbs.

the smashing pumpkins, nirvana, radiohead and pearl jam, to name a few, have made entire albums from b-sides that are pretty badass.

Not to sound biased, but that Matt Good guy knows how to throw a b-side party as well.

Matthew Good has the most consistent bsides i've ever heard.

 

if we're counting covers from bside albums, i'd have to say SP's "Landslide"

 

 

Marilyn Manson's "Believe" is my favourite MM song.

 

System of a Down's "Metro," "Shame," "Roulette" and "Streamline" all kick ass.

 

Deftones' "No Ordinary Love" and there's a 14 minute bside version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" that's orgamsic.
