I have to give them mad props for this stunt, I hope it works out well for them. I haven't heard King James Version, which is their second album, but Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone? is well worth a listen. The album has a certain charm.

 

Let's hope this one doesn't suck, eh?

I think that it is awesome, that they decided to take a chance and let people download the cd for free. With all music that is being pirated these days, it makes me wonder, if more bands, in time will also start to release records this way.

You know, it ind of makes sense, because i hate buying CD's before i hear them now, because it's so common that a major label will find a band with a catchy song and milk that as the single and the other 35 minutes of the disc is shit.

 

If you can download it for free, you have no reason not to listen to it, and if you like it, and you're not a dick, you'll buy it.

 

Except for me, i don't know how to use bittorrent, so i have an excuse.

once you learn, expect your harddrive to balloon in a matter of days. you can kind of get carried away sometimes... but yeah, the principle is the same for me. so much out there these days is faddish, and i don't really want to be a part of that if i can, so if i'm not familiar with the artist, downloading the album certainly helps. and if i like it, i'll buy it.
