3rd Edmonton Show

this is so fucking sweet. i get to see him 3 times and i don't even need to travel for it. edmonton must have a fucking huge fan base. 3 shows even after the fact he just plaed this market in july for Klondike days. Calgary only gets 1 show, i think even toronto only gets one show.

he played three shows in winnipeg in 2003....just kept adding...the first show sold out in a couple hrs....the 2nd show was added and that sold out in a day third show was added and that took a week to sell out......I went to see 2 of the 3

I was pretty surprised to see the third show announcement as well. I am not complaining, I am super pleased he is playing this much here. In 2004 and 2005 he will have played eight shows (Starlite Room, Reds and Klondike Days) and I am sure the shows in October will be a treat. I do feel bad for other markets because I've been in that situation where a band I want to see doesn't come through, so I will soak all of this in. End of October will be sixteen times I've seen MG/B perform and I have high hopes for the upcoming three night stint seeing as how great the three shows in June 2004 were.

Yeah you folks in Edmonton are pretty lucky.

I'm still anxiously waiting for a Saskatoon show, or even Regina. There's that perfect time slot.. so I have high hopes.

If not, we may be travelling to Edmonton, however, if we don't have to, it's better, because we're students and poor.

That's pretty cool though that Edmonton gets 3 shows.. crazy. He must have really enjoyed playing there.

So who here is going to the Edmonton shows? I am going to the first two on Sat and Sun by myself. I am from Fort Nelson,BC and will be travelling just to see the concerts.

 

It will also be my first time at a Matt Good show. How is the live scene at his shows? The information is relevant as I like to be in the middle of the action but I don't want to be in a mosh pit either.

 

Anyone interested in meeting up at the show would be cool too. ;)

Wow, a little bit of a drive for both shows. For all that time driving why not make it worth it and go to the third Edmonton show and then down to Calgary for the Tuesday show? Although that would be a lot of extra driving, but you came so far already...

 

There are rarely any "mosh pit" at his shows and I doubt there would be anything at Starlite Room. The shows there in June 2004 were very tame but the crowd was active closer to the front. Nothing to be worried about. It is a pretty good venue, but after they renovated it they put the stage on the opposite end so the floor slants down/away from the stage so that's a little weird. I was upfront and further back for the shows in June and had no problems at either location.
