does anyone know who is opening? i guess that it migh be limblifter, cuz i heard that ryan dahle played lead guitar on rooms or something, i might be mixed up, but if you know who it is dont hesitate to tell, im dying to know, im just hoping that Auf Der Maur isnt coming back. they really sucked.

I'm the charm-master. But all her songs sounded the same, and I could only hear about 50% of her vocals, which weren't good. I was glad when they left.

but then i went out and bought her cd acouple months later.

like i was right in fron of the lead guitar for them, and he could tell that i hated them, he didnt seem like a happy character, but i dont care. i practically fell asleep if it werent for the nightmarish voice of melissa, i would have.

Melissa Auf Der Maur was like a bad Irish stereotype. Drunk, pale, redhead, freckled, in a green miniskirt or something. Which is strange because Auf Der Maur is not an Irish name. And if anyone was about to go off on me for stereotyping the Irish or something, i'm partially Irish so i can say it and not be racist or whatever.

 

Oh well, Auf Der Maur wasn't that bad, in a certain way -- the performance made me anticipate MG even more.

I'd have to say that the WORST openeing band for him was back five years ago or so when he played Red Deer. Copyright. It was terrible! They never even finished thier set, they were laughed right off the stage. The guy singing was strutting around like he was Mic Jagger with down syndrome and no one in the crowd was even moving other than to boo them. Not to mention Treble Charger was the follow up opener. It was painful. So Auf Der Maur wasn't the worst opener I've seen. They were just bad whereas these guys were horrible.

First time i saw MAtthew Good was last year at the Vogue in Vancouver, Limblifter was alright cause i knew the song Ariel vs Lotus which was their best, and i knew auf de mer cause she played bass on the last smashingpumpkins album and i was a fan of them, i guess i still am but have definitley changed my tastes in music over the last couple years. Anyways she was horrendous, when she ended one of her songs and it was really quiet i yelled out "Play Everlasting Gaze" and the crowd got really silent and she got really mad but i didn't care cause that song had a cool bassline...

yes he was. and the hidden world album has some good tunes. matt also qouted the singer from that band in the opening pages of "at last there is nothing left to say"

I rather like Auf der Maur, though I agree that she's not great live (at least compared with her album). It's too hard to understand her lyrics live. Her music can be pretty sexy though.

the ladies and gentlemen are rather good...mobile opened up for matt over the summer. LAG will be worth watching.

I'd never heard of The Ladies & Gentlemen before the Toronto show but they were really, really good live.

 

I had to sit down though, because of my foot, so I was up on the balcony watching them, but I really enjoyed it. Nice guys too. I bought the CD after the show and they all autographed it, t'was a great, great night.
