thats what I figured too, but I know from working at a venue, what the show allows to happing regarding cameras during the show, and what the security does can be two very different things.

after tonites show I should have pics posted

Overall the show was great. However I was not impressed with the people that were at the show, but there isnt time to talk about that now. Maybe in a later post to start some troubles.

Lookin forward to the hometown show, with some people that know how things are done.

Not posing pictures tonite....Too Tired

Looks like I must have been right near you. And I guess because of that I'd have to agree that the crowd really did have some shitty people in it. Not to be a snoot, since I'm only just 19 myself and would have otherwise bitched if it wasn't all ages, but all ages shows suck. I denied it before but I can see it now. Though I think the show was overall better last night than Saturday at the Pheonix, having it 19+ really makes the crowd a lot more bearable. Off to school now.

i had a whole crazy ordeal involving securtiy and a guy getting removed from the building right in front of me! all during the acoustic performance of apparitions!

the guy got pissed at some younger people for being too loud, then he got booted.

it was an unpleasant interuption to the amazing music.

That's really too bad. I didn't notice any of that stuff.. my wife and I were near the back, and I thought the show was great. Everyone around me was calm and enjoying the music.

Got goosebumps during the whole K I C K A S S chant. Wow. ;)

one of the worst crowds I've seen.... the crowd was pretty bad at last years show there too.

too many drunken fools who aren't paying attention.. unnecessary screaming, people making out right beside me, people talking on cell phones during quiet songs... geez

stay at home and booze it up with your buddies, or stay at home if you wanna make out with your b/f or g/f. I don't wanna see that and quite frankely nobody else does -- why pay 30+ $ to do that??? STAY HOME

Yah I guess one of the downsides to being really close to the stage is having to be within licking distance of everyone around you, and having most of those people be apparent idiots. There was this one guy behind me who was singing so intensly that a few times it drowned out Matt, and for some of the lyrics i could feel his breath puffing up the hair at the back of my had. He also wasn't a very good singer. Shame really.

I'd have to agree that the crowd left something to be desired. In that pic kvanlierop posted I would be standing just right of the frame, maybe a bit back. I was direct center stage about 8 feet back.

I was rather irritated with the people yelling random nothings at random times and the guy about 4 feet away from me smoking up was none too fun either as that smell tends to make me very sick. But it was a great set list and all in all was a good show. KICKASS chant at the end was a wonderful cap on the evening. I dont think this show was as good as the arizona's show back in july but that was all ages and kitchener is notorious for its immature behavior in the downtown establishments. That of course from a person who lives in Waterloo, not Kitchener ;) Elements by the way is close to the worst venue in terms of exiting ever with a bottleneck every 10 feet or so.

Don't think I'll ever be atending elements on a regular night as poking myself with flaming sticks seems more fun than a 14 year old ridden foam party . . . I've said it before, I hate kids, at least the ones that hang out with a crowd that is far too old for them(not all of you, I know many a youngster who can hold themselves at a high level of respectfulness).

That's neat how we were all kinda close to where that picture was taken. Depending where you were near the front it must not have been so bad at some places. Like the people at the very front may not have noticed to the two or three idiots who started the whole pushing thing that people tend to like to do in tightly packed concerts and they are imature idiots. The crowd overall wasn't bad, not at all, it's just there were some people who really almost ruined it. I think the next time I'm at a concert and people are yelling out song names like that I might yess "no, play whats next ont he setlist," just to make things fair.

Also, I thought Elements was a pretty good venue, save for the whole insane firehazard thing.

The crowd wasn't too bad from where I was. I got a little bit of the pushing but I've endured worse. Still, an awesome show. Although being approached by the weird guy after the show, who rambled on about "no pain, no gain" and how he "sensed" I was a faithful Christian was not quite as fun. Oh downtown Kitchener...

Great song selection (hearing Alalanch and the chant were among the highlights ), but I too was disapointed in the maturity level. I was standing by the bar and I could hear most of the random comments moreso than the music a lot of the time. Despite the few idiots I think it was one of the best MG concerts that I've been to.

Last night's show as worth the drive from Toronto. I caught the Phoenix show and I think that the crowd was a bit more into it than last night's show. The KICKASS chant was the exactly the same prior to the encore! It was great to see the crowd into both of the chants! AWESOME! I didn't have any problems with the crowd...the weed smelled good and I wished they would've passed a few puffs to me...but anyhoo...yea, not enuf people rocking out to his tunes.

Too bad he couldn't make it for the autographing after the show...yea, it's tough not to get sick while touring across Canada. I'm still very satisfied b/c he put out one heck of a performance given his state. What an ultimate performer!

Funny, but while we were waiting by his coach, we peered inside and noticed a hockey game being played on the telly...It was Vancouver & Phoenix. No second guesses as to who was watching that game. ;)

Also, just to clarify some doubt...I bought a matt good shirt last night at the table and looked at the label, and it read: "Made in Mexico". Any background info? I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but the shirts we bought, they weren't from sweatshops, are they? Can anyone else confirm with their gear bought from prior Matt Good shows?

the problem I had with the crowd was that

a) as with most of Matts shows, the majority of the fans are "radio" fans that only come to hear the hits, and there is nothing wrong with this, but I dont think they appreciate the larger picture(cant wait til mat does an intimate solo tour)

b)There were a couple of people that puched their way to the front of the stage, I had words with them, but over all there wasnt much pushing.

c) Im gonna get alot of flack for this, Im sure of it, but if you are shorter than the people infront of you dont complain about it. Some people waiting in line longer than you for the reason to get a good view of the stage, if you are short and are not going to be able to see the show, then show up earlier and as a result get a better view.

Yep, pretty much the same routine goes down at every show across Canada...Hellotimebombers come out of the woodwork to check out a live show, and then proceed to go Katrina in the moshpit to songs like Avalanche....Prior to the release of Avalanche(the album), Matt played House of Smoke and Mirrors at a show in Vancouver at the Commodore, and yes, believe it or not, I took some jackasses foot in the head as he moshed by to that song. Idiots are idiots, period. The ONLY show I've experienced in my life where 'moshing' was disrupted was at a Radiohead gig in Calgary where Thom Yorke STOPPED the band during the opening song and told people that they must be at the wrong show. He also indicated he would be leaving if the 'nonesense' continued. The majority of the crowd applauded, it was unbelievable.

Anyway, back to my knitting.

Yeah I am pretty angry I missed the show. I was completely broke. I even live in Kitchener which is the worst part. It sounds like you all had an awesome time. Absolutely ridiculous. How does he do the acoustic songs. Does he play them by himself like I've seen him do with Appartiions in encores before? Or did Christian play an acoustic as well. I'd be curious to know. Thanks
