-Gus Van Sant (i can't wait to see Last Days)

-Alfred Hitchcock

-Orson Welles (Citizen Kane. Greatest movie. Period.)

-Coen Brothers

-Martin Scorcese

-Michel Gondry & Spike Jonze (both primarily work with music videos, but they're too brilliant concept wise to be left out)

i really don't have any HUGE favorites, as most of my favorite movies are directed by a wide variety of directors with few repeats.

The closest might be Rob Reiner. He directed 'This is Spinal Tap', 'Stand By Me', and 'When Harry Met Sally', all of which are in my top 10-15 movies of all-time.

Spielberg, of couse.

M. Night Shyamalan

David Fincher

Richard Kelly

Sam Mendes

And, can I just say...

*completly hoping M:I-3 is amazing*

I know it will be his first big screen directorial, but J.J. Abrams is a fucking genius. Lost and Alias are the two best shows on TV.
