What Was The Last Movie You Saw?

Recommended Posts

t4 - too over the top, lacking any sort of logic or plot. tension was also absent. Why would a terminator throw a human outside of for movie effect? It's definitely watchable but compared to the other two...meh.

the first 2 films were great, tension, action, plot, logical for the most part. Suspension of disbelief wasn't there like the first two either.

*3rd one eh...not talking about it : )

terminator: salvation. i enjoyed the slow pacing of the movie and airy environment. believably post-apocalyptic without being overboard. gotta admit, i wasn't a fan of john connor's messiah complex. 'i'm gonna save the whole world!'. i understand he was prophecized and all, but still, was a little annoying.

and i think the one who sacrificed his life at the end should have been the one to live. he was a much better hero. but then, i've always been a fan of underdogs.

it's one of my favourites of all time, sad ending and all.

i rented a film called the girlfriend experience thinking that it would be the stephen soderbergh film about an escort, but it turned out to be another film entirely. the strange thing is, it was made in the same year, has a very similar story, and shares a title with the soderbergh joint. i don't get it. i felt like i was in a parallel dimension when i saw it.

The italian Job (the new one)

Sucked, hardcore. It was like Ocean's Eleven for people who missed the casting call because they were too busy being terrible. Incidentally, I think it was the only movie with Jason Statham wherein he does not punch anyone.

Three in a row.

Doubt

Monster's Ball

Bride Wars.

Doubt was incredible, but not as good as I was expecting with Philip Seymour Hoffman. His scenes with Meryl Streep were the best in the movie.

Monster's Ball is one of my favorites. Liked it even more the second time around.

Bride Wars... well, what can really be said aside from typical. Not horrible, though.

I saw the new Harry Potter. I was confused as hell, but the movie was pretty decent.

Not surprising. I'm alright as I've read the book (albeit a few years back) so I could work out what was going on, but once again they've carried on their tradition of replacing important explanatory scenes with pointless shit just because it'll look good. Like the Death Eaters torching The Burrow - what the fuck was all that about ? It just took up minutes which could've been devoted to explaining things a bit better (like where Dumbledore had been all term, or what had happened to his hand) or they just changed things for no good reason, like Harry spending the final scene beating himself up about not helping Dumbledore, which in actual fact was fucking impossible as in the book Dumbledore had purposely immobilised him. Who was the lass he met in the cafe ?! Again, minutes taken up by absolute bollocks replacing actual meaningful scenes likes Dumbledore's fucking funeral.

Having said that, I probably enjoyed this one more than the others. It didn't feel as rushed as some - namely Prison of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire; there were some funny moments and I managed to finish the film without cringing (although that Dumbledore scene asking Harry about him & Hermoine was close - like Dumbledore would ever give a fuck about that ?! lol) The acting was generally better, too.
