because the canucks are symbolic of how a real canadian team should be

we kick ass, and we're multicultured

where else can you get canadians,swedes,russians,italians,african americans,koreans, and a few more i'm sure on any other team!

i'd choose pretty much any team over the leafs, NO team deserves to be on hockey night in canada EVERY week.

Leafs fans deserve it. the leafs have more fans than any team, by far. most of ontario roots for them, as does the eastern provinces. ( their farm team was in st.johns). And anytime the leafs are in Buffalo there are more leafs fans than sabers fans, same scenario with ottawa. Even in cities like Dallas you see more Leafs jerseys than Stars jerseys. CBC headquarters is also in Toronto. hockey night is tradition

if it werent for the leafs..

hockey would be much more american..

seeing as how the leafs have been the

last canadian team in each of the last

6 playoffs (except for the last yr and the season

when ottawa made it to the final 4).

the leafs are pretty fucking hated here in vancouver.

 

i remember a friend of mine, after watching a game of hockey, finding an old Leafs pillowcase and then proceeding to burn it in the backyard. that fire subsequently got out of control, which we remedied by dumping a wheelbarrow full of water on it. then another friend came outside, said, and i quote, "YOU DIDN'T EVEN FINISH THE JOB!" and then set it on fire again. unfortunately, due to the gasoline, it got out of control again so we had a really fun time trying to put that one out.

 

leafs suck.

the only people who like the leafs are those who live near and in toronto, and southern ontario. Thankfully i am not one of them. Ottawa is the best team in Canada right now, and even though i live in Ottawa, i will always be a Montreal fan first, Ottawa second, and what ever team beats the leafs next is third.

I play ice hockey and enjoy watching skilled players play hockey, that's why i'm a red wings fan, have been for 13 years and will never change.

The leafs aren't a terrible team, they have a bad coach who's to "old school" to understand how to compete in the new NHL. However i think my dislike of the leafs comes from the fact that there on CBC every week and you have to listen to all the announcers talk about how great they think they are...it's just sickening

You segregated african americans as though they're their own nationality. Can not african americans be canadians, swedes, russians, italians, or koreans?

 

Thats the thing with Canuck fans, they're all Racists.

Notice how on the blue line it says "Thank you fans" in all the rinks, but in Toronto, just to set themselves apart, write "Thank you leafs fans."

 

For those of you who mock the canucks because they haven't won a cup, I remind you that Toronto hasn't won since there were only 6 teams in 1967. Canucks entered the league in 1970 with 14 teams, and have a shorter period of time without a cup than Toronto. Toronto hasn't even appeared in the finals since then.

 

Pat Quinn is indeed a douche. He is old and obsolete.

 

I think it is time CBC2 gets invented so that us who haven't been brainwashed by the Toronto media hype can watch real hockey teams like Ottawa and Montreal, who, unlike Toronto, are currently in playoff positions, and are, in my opinion, much more entertaining to watch.
