when the president talks to god

are the conversations brief or long?

does he ask to rape our womens' rights

or to send poor farm kids off to die?

does god suggest an oil hike

when the president talks to god

when the president talks to god

are the constanants all hard or soft?

does he resolute all down the line?

is every issue black or white?

does what god say ever change his mind

when the president talks to god

when the president talks to god

does he fake that drawl or merely nod?

agree which convicts should be killed?

where the prison's built and filled?

which voter fraud must be concealed

when the president talks to god?

when the president talks to god

I wonder which one plays the better cop

we should find some jobs. the ghetto's broke

no, they're lazy, George, I say we don't

just give 'em more liquor stores and dirty coke

that's what god reccomends

when the president talks to god

do they drink near beer and go play golf

when they pick which country to invade

and which Muslim souls still can be saved?

yeah I guess god just calls a spade a spade

when the president talks to god

when the president talks to god

does he ever think that maybe he's not?

that that voice is just inside his head

when he kneels next to the presidential bed

does he ever smell his own bullshit

when the president talks to god?

I doubt it

I doubt it

as far as anti-bush songs go though, i still favor "bu$hleaguer" by pearl jam the most.

never heard. Off of Riot Act?

And Crazy! That was pretty good, what show was that from?

you don't know who Jay Leno is? The big famous talk show host with the huge chin? Weird. I've never met anyone who didn't know who Leno was.

Are you familar with late night talk shows? Leno has one. It's probably the most famous right now, but it really, really sucks.

I used to watch Mike Billard when i was really young, and wanted to stay up late for the sake of staying up late, but no, i watch no TV, let alone late night tv. If i'm up late i'm out with friends.

This was my first exposure to Bright Eyes, and I'm a little turned on. I kinda liked reading the lyrics more than I liked hearing them though. But still, kickin' rad, yo.

I love this song but i've always loved them.

Do you want more?

Um, they vary. This is one of the few solo acoustic songs, but they often utilise acoustic guitar. Actually, 95% of the time i would say.

they're stuck in with the emo category, but they really don't fit in there... you'll see in about 20 minutes, i'll post a zip folder of mp3's.

I am Father Theresa!

Um, i don't know about Bob Dylan comparrisons. The two have similarities, but i don't think anything major.

I would have to say i like Bright Eyes better, only because of "Haligh Haligh A Lie Haligh", "The Calender Hung Itself" and "The Center of the Earth."

i can see some parellels, but i don't know.

Music hyping has changed in the last 30+ years, you must realise.

30 years ago, there weren't nearly as many musicians as there are now, which makes for a completely different atmosphere.

Today, there are 50 000 bands that will sound alike, but have tiny differences, meaning people can have far more options in what they listen to now. In the 60's and 70's, and even into the eighties, people would have more in common musically, and that creates huge hype, and that's my theory for why mediocre artists (like The Rolling Stones, for example) are the monsters they are now.

Not as many people LOVE one artist that way anymore, since there are bands that you love everything about, and you can ignore a band you only half-like, and still have tonnes of music to listen to.

I hope that made sense. Early sunday monring rambles often turn out badly.
