Hidden Words, Background Melodies, Brain Washing?

So I was listening to Avalanche and there is a part at 2:45sec into the song that something is said. Ive listened to it repeatedly and I cant make out what is said. the talking goes from 2:45 to 2:56ish and is not in the lyrics booklet. Anybody have any Ideas?

 

 

I was also listening to Double Life and again something is said inbetween 3:05 and 3:20 I cant make out what is initially said but I can make out the Follow up YAH YAH, once again anybody have any ideas?

Are you referring to the exerpt from 'There's Only One Jimmy Grimble'? I dunno exactly what that says, but it's a movie based in England about some kid who's fantastic at football [or soccer for you all] or something like that. Its relevence to Avalanche is... debatable.

it kind of sounds like something played backwards, but i have no guesses as to what that would be.

The only reference is that Matt is a big Soccer fan (his fav. sport) so he have made a soccer reference in one of his song.

Actually, the second line of that thing should read "every ball loose".

 

Look in the credits for Avalanche, you'll see it lists that Avalanche used a sound recording from "There Is Only One Jimmy Grimble".

now has there been any confirmation as to whether it is Matt speaking the lines from the movie or a sound clip? I've seen mention of both.. and.. itis hard to tell from listening.. part of the time it sounds like a clip.. part of the time it sounds like it could be Matt

umm its a sound clip, hence why he gives credit to using a clip from the movie
