Matt Good On Cbc Last Night

Anyone see MG on CBC last night during the CBC election coverage. He was in this cafe filled with a ton of other Canadian celebrities who were all sitting a bunch of little tables.

 

I saw he was sitting beside this woman they interviewed, then they interviewed Kenny from "Kenny vs Spenny". They then mentioned Matt and said he was blogging as the election unfolded and that they would get back to him later.

 

I must have missed when they actually interviewed him, or maybe they didn't have time.

George talked to him for like ten seconds, and he basically said "this election is really a referendum on the sponsorship scandal." That's it.

Wow. I was annoyed that I missed it due to nobody actually saying when it would be on. I guess it's not such a big deal since he was on for so little time.

sometimes outspokeness is good enough to get you into the room, but bad enough to only get you five seconds.

Nobody got to speak for any more than 5 seconds. Those guys up in the control room were too busy in a collective circle jerk to allow opinions from George & the Gang.

 

Other than that, is it just me or does Matt come across as considerably less intelligent when you hear him speak his opinions, rather than written? Kind of like he's already come to the conclusion of what's being asked way before anyone had asked him, and as though his answer doesn't contain as much rational thought behind it as you'd think.

I actaully taped the whole 6 hour CBC coverage because I had to work and wanted to know what Matt had to say. Unfortunately when I checked it this morning and saw Ed The Sock I realized I'd made a mistake and taped MuchMusic instead of CBC Newsworld. I guess I'm lucky I didn't have to scan through 6 hours of broadcast for his 5 second comment...

...thats the good thing about blogs, you can sit in front of it all day long and think of something perferct to say, whereas you put the same guy in front of a camera and ask him a question and the only things getting him through it is the ego he's gotten from having a successful blog and whatever he read on the internet earlier that day.

 

 

that's why writers seldom become tv personalities and vice-versa.

 

 

everyone is intelligent when they've got every news outlet on the planet available to them by clicking a button.

Matt was also on the show "The Hour" the day after and he had more camera time than he did the night before, even getting enough time in to make a joke about internet porn before getting in a debate with Paul Godfrey of the Jays about foriegn polocy

and then canada's golden boy, kenny (from "kenny vs. spenny" fame), had to pipe up and dumb down the debate by saying "i'm gonna take paul's side on this matt... but only because he's got the most money in the room and can score me sweet jays tickets"

 

 

sidenotes:

1. matt needs a fucking hair cut in the worst way.

2. that hockey player chick who spoke after matt has canada's biggest nose

3. melissa auf der maur (or whatever) is waaaaaay hotter with leather on.
