Nope it's never been played live. To paraphrase a quote from Matt:

"In the studio you can do stuff that you can never do live" (talking about his voice I think)

yeah, tripoli's been played MANY times in the past. that was one of the few AOB songs that was played live in the 'transition' tour after the breakup of MGB, and it's been rehashed a few times since then.

To put this to rest...

Tripoli = been played many times (album version + acoustic)

Wwwhr = never been played live

yeah, i thought that quote was in regards to tripoli.

Well I would feel kind of lame to say that Tripoli has been played many times live now that half the bored said it...so I wont ;)

To quote Matt from the Avalanche Tour:

(We can't play WWWHR live) "It's kind of hard without the Orchestra. (pause) They're thinking of marketing those though. In little boxes. Collect them all."

It was a cute comment. I'd like to see Matt do a tour like the Tea Party did in 2002, where they play with a different Orchestra in each major city across Canada. Maybe someday, it'll happen:)

Just one answer to that.... $ and some $$$$ and some more $$$...

seems like the song could be transoformed a bit to be used with keys instead of the orchestra, not the same effect, but would still be a neat sound

The Tea Party's tour was sponsored by Imperial Tobacco and all the shows were 19+ so they could have cigarette girls selling duMaurier in the lobby. Imperial Tobacco has plenty of $$$, and if seeing Matt play that kind of show meant dealing with the Tobacco Company (or any other sponsor) I'd still buy tickets.
