Communism...

Recommended Posts

wow, i harsh missed out on this thread....anyway toadman you are diagnosing bolshevick communism, and not communism under marx original view...under marx the ultimate goal of communism is to do away with government all together...so how can the state own things if it doesnt exist?...secondly under marx the concept of ownership is also under attack "each accoridng to their need" so if you need a certain amount of food you get it, if you need clothing it is supplied...however for national product it belongs to everyone..thus no one owns anything....or everyone owns everything...either way the concept of ownership doesnt really exist. therefore, how can the unexistant state own anything when the concept of ownership no longer exists. Furthermore marx never stated that communism was a system of government or a political idealogy...rather he meant it as an economic system where everyone has everything they need and no one has far more than they need. the whole government ownership was meant as a step to dissolving ownership and government not as a platfrom for dictatorships and it could very well have been a democratic communist goverment...what we see in the world is the russian interpretation of it, where communism is less about inheriting utopia and more about taking care of the rich (much like capitalism) and was used as a system of government and political idealogy not an economic system...so in summary communism was meant as an economic system opposite to capitalism and not a system of government and dont let the russian perversion of communism ruin the merits of the system

I agree with you entirely. I had previously stated there is a difference between Marc's socialism, and communism. Technically I would also draw the distinction between communism and Stalin / Lenin communism.

This is a good thread, and I appreciate the corrections that you offer. I know that I'm not the most knowledgeable.

Peace

lol im just a commi groupy....me and a friend tired to have a chat with the local commi candidate for the canadian federal communist party....however, in reality im more NDP though, communism while brilliant in theory is flawed by human nature, and NDP actually has a shot at winning seats

and originally communism was meant for industrialized nations like england and germany...not a country as messed up as russia...they were messed from the start

the original idea of communism was to have a society in which everything was of everyone, that is, there were no private possessions, everything was public, accesible to everybody... and i like that idea, at least there wouldn't be so many differences between social classes as there are right now in our systems (including Spain)

at least in Spain there are still some social advances which retain some sorta communist idea: there is public health care system (everybody has free access to it, independently of your social status), public educational system (high school and university studies are free for everybody, just need to pay taxes for the course) and other free public services accessible to everyone...

although not everything is as "perfect" as that in Spain... many private institutions are gaining power...

my goodness, i would love inexpensive universities... but you guys probably have high taxes compaired to ours.

notice how elementary and high schools are inexpensive to us, but the teachers are always striking, and profs never do?

makes me made. they shouldn't be on the verge of striking, but do they need to be swimming in it at our expense?

actually taxes are not very high... honestly, believe it or not, free education for all Spanish citizens is included in our Constitution and all people who want to study in Spain have free access to it...

the same with the social health care: it is obliged for all health care institutions to take care of any Spanish citizen (it is also included in our Constitution)

we pay taxes all our months from our salaries but at least we know that it is for these social care issues and i dont care if i have to pay taxes in order to maintain these facilities
