I honestly can't figure out if this movie exceeded or fell below my expectations. It was just a very novel approach to a film. I liked it, and it's not my mission to tell the joke and make people laugh goddammit!

 

Anyone else seen it?

FAR below my expectations... Aside from the fact that it was mostly reiteration throughout (I expected it to be 100 comedians doing their take on it, not talking about the joke's history), the editing and camera work was rediculously bad.

I agree in that I wasn't expecting such a histroical approach. They really could have used a bit more actual joke-telling.

You should check out the special features on the DVD...they did a hell of a job putting that package together.

if they would have made it all about bob saget it would have been waaaaaay better. no one tells the joke like bob.

 

 

i actually heard him tell it around 2 years ago in san diego to like three guys sidestage at a comedy club.

i watched this with my friends a little while ago. They laughed like crazy but i didn't really get much enjoyment from it.

The one guy who was talking about chiseling away the dried semen off of grandma's chest was hilarious. He was my favourite. He was outside at what looked like Vegas, telling it to some creepy looking soldeir guy. Looked like the nutcracker.

I saw it twice, once in the theatre and then at home, with one other person. It was a lot better in the theatre, I think, because the collective reaction and laughter of that many people helped the mood a lot.

Hilarious. I'm amused the most disturbing film of last year contained no violence or sexual acts (shown, at least).
